This series gives the chance to use the untrodden corners of PnG.

Lets get the MkII Jag out

Now that would make a good LCC race, 3.8s for the top 3 & 4.2s for the rest (or 3.4s & 3.8s).

For the record, I really enjoy racing at Dubai Club. Short tracks can be really exciting, and this is one of the best IMO. I wasn't intending to race tonight, but it might be worth a shot in the IROC if enough "Porsche numpties" turn up Grin

Porsche numptie reporting for duty..

Did some laps in the 2.8 yesterday so i'll probably take that, but don't know how competitive (or not) it will be to the others.

Jags at Ancient Silverstone sounds useable, Leather armchairs at dawn.
Wot Clive said, that multi curve bit will be a bit messy, but the rules are keep two wheels on the grey stuff
putting wheels up kerbs is perfectly fine, but driving completely over or on these wide kerbs is not allowed.

I hope Clive has sorted his dodgy conn, it is so frustrating to drop from a race when you are well in the zone.
I ordered some pots from RS and parcel force has delivered them to the wrong address!  taz
SO, I will be using a spare pedal board tonight, hopefully I will be able to race.

Remember only the top 3 are limited to group B cars, others can take whatever they want from the list.
most people find the RSR3 easier to drive than the 2.8, but whatever rocks yer boat.  Huh
I think the 914 will be a good car for this event, I think Guiseppe pointed out that the RSR3 is fastest
but not necessarily the winner.

Thanks everybody for another entertaining race. And apologies to Matt for the hit in the opening lap. Wasn't aware of my mistake until I watched the replay. You'll  get your position back in the next race. angel

Hi guys,
I apologize for the incident with Geoffers, but watching the replay I think we both wrong, what do you think?
Congratulations to the winner and to John for the regularity and speed throughout the race, at one point it seemed you were driving a Porsche 3.0

See u next time

Cracking race that really enjoyed it, told you all along the club layout was great  Grin

Qualied well in 5th against a strong grid  Smiley
Had my usual tardy start off the line and nearly got swamped by several cars but my longer gear and later braking just kept me ahead of all but John. Everyone was great in the opening laps giving each other enough room but still racing hard  Smiley
I chased John as hard and close as I dared and amazingly I think he was actually costing me time in the first laps as I had to keep getting out of the throttle to avoid contact.  Shocked
On lap 8 John tried a new tactic to get rid of me pestering him, he lost it mid apex! and I had to make an emergency move to avoid contact! But in trying to get it back under control the chasing F Zecherini? Clipped me and we both took to the verges? I rejoined quickly but John had scampered off sniggering in his helmet  Grin
Then I passed Geoffers a few laps later after his off and slowly but surely closed down on John again with geoffers in close pursuit  sweatdrop
This continued for most of the race but Geoffers fell off somewhere giving me a breather, and with very worn tyres I just couldn't find a way past the flying John and he didn't make any errors.
Finished a fine 4th behind three aliens   clap  ooh I got 3rd fastest race lap too  Kiss

The cars looked fantastic and the track was good fun apart from that horrid uphill bit. Smiley
Congrats to Guiseppe, Otto and John on the podium  thumbup1

Results and Replay Posted
That was great fun  Grin
I lost places with a slow start and then Dan helped me lose some more  Shocked
Nay bother, was unfortunate, but I got back on quickly, and on the 1st lap is not
such a big penalty. I am no Pork herder and proved it, by falling off a few times
particularly when the tyres started to go off, and I was on meds...
Had the what is becoming "usual" dicing with Evil Clive, sorry for bumping at the end of
the straight, I didn't think I braked later than normal? I waited of course and we continued
then Clive went off so I grabbed the place. Well done everyone for the grown up driving
standards, I'm with MJ about that tight triple wiggle, could do without that, but most
people seemed to be having a good time, so mission accomplished John and Fedi
will still be slightly handicapped at the next one of these, and Giuseppe joins them  Roll Eyes
The same people were at the front, but others were able to have some dicing
with people they might not normally get to play with  thumbup1

I started with a 914 but was the only one, so used the RSR3, if I'd have know Legzy
and Alex were going to have them I would have stuck with it.

It was great fun even from my lowly position. I am still struggling with these PnG cars and how violent I can be with them, but slowly things are beginning to come together.

I was very slow off the grid after posting a respectable( for me) qually time and undid all the good work  Undecided but I was impressed by the good behaviour in the grid lock up ahead on the 1st lap.

I doubt that you did brake any later phspok! it was much more likely that I stood on the anchors way sooner than any sensible driver would have  Undecided

Grats to the podium finishers and big apologies for a couple of very dodgy rejoins on my part up through the "wiggles". Twice I thought that I had allowed the following car to pass, only to become aware of another engine in very close proximity.  Shocked Shocked

I had opted for the hard tyres hoping to have more rubber to burn in the last laps of the race, on reflection I could probably have done the same race on mediums and maybe had a little more grip even from the start. The last 10 laps were deffo my best as I became more consistant and worked the engine harder in the downshifts and against the rev limiter without apparently damaging the whizzy bits.

I made a storming start from 6th and was 3rd at T1, with Otto on the inside.

Then I had my first Team Oldie moment and out braked myself into T2.   That put me back to about 8th or 9th and whilst I tried to creep back on without causing too much mayhem, I may have obliged a couple of cars to take to the grass.  Sorry about that chaps.   Grin

A lap or two later I tried to squeeze down the inside of Postal as we approached T4.  He had been on the grass so I thought it was a reasonable move but he turned into me and we exchanged hub caps and door handles at T4 and T5.  My car then decided to turn right and I then found myself in about 13th position.

I then settled down a bit and had a good race back to 6th by the flag.

At one point, Stig, having let me through beforehand, put in a storming lap and closed right up to me.  I was just thinking that I should let him past to have a go at catching Geoffers when he got things wrong at T1 and dropped back.  We shall have to find out what went on at the team debrief.

I noticed that Legzy hit the escape button so that I couldn't claim to have lapped him on track.   Grin

Well done to Giuseppe, John and Otto.  MJ and Geoffers were going a bit too.

I notice that everyone back to 7th was going faster than Giuseppe at the end.  Was he on softs?  Geoffers and John look to have good pace at the finish whereas my medium tyres were costing me dear in the last section.  I still do not have a clue with regard to tyre strategy in PnG.  Nothing seems to work!

Had a decent qualy performance on softs, but opted for mediums for the race. Strangely the results show me driving a Dunlop shod car, whilst in-game it is wearing Goodyears..?

Anyways, I got me a good start again and everybody was behaving themselves the early turns. Got up to P6 at lap 8 for a moment. My pace was not that fast, so first had to try and fend off Hotkeys and then Clive and finally Federico.
Bit of a moment indeed Clive. I suspected you on the inside into the Wiggly’s, after I had put a bit of rubber on the green stuff. Looked right, but could not see you, so thought you opted to stay behind. As I turned my wheel I spotted the car on my side. Embarrassed

After making our cars somewhat lighter by scraping off some paint, Clive spun it around sadly.  Some 8 laps later he redeemed himself and decisively made a pass stick. Then had Federico on my case for a couple of laps and we had a good scrap. That was good fun driving these cars and a decent result.
Also congrats to the podium!

Excellent first half of the race, all action; then a lonely second half.

Possible apology needed to Federico - after your bump with GT i took advantage and muscled past.. I think it was ok, but apologies if a bit rude. After spending what seemed like the whole of the next lap side by side you got by again and then Ivan nipped by at the same time. That's when things got tricky as following Ivan was not easy - you were lagging slightly and also looked like you had a very loose setup, and after you got a bit sideways just before the wiggly section i had to back off to avoid you and spun.

Really enjoy these cars though - always fun for me in the 911s..

Congrats podium.

lol you noticed!
I actually thought the 914 was a decent enough car, but it was like bringing a knife to a gun fight Undecided
Had a little dicing with Matt & my new preferred Clive, but that action had long since dried up as they got better at not falling off & as the lapping cars came round I just lost more & more ground.
I could see the dastardly old(ie) Clive was rapidly gaining to lap me, well I'm not having that (& like I said, all racing had dried up for me) so aimed to hold on & complete another lap before escaping. Just about managed it & let out a little virtual pump to choke him as he would come through my fumes Tongue Tongue Tongue

Congrats to all finishers & I'll see you back in the mid-pack when there's an option of a proper car angel.
