Just done 4 laps in each car with a quick setup and I get a best lap of:
Jag = 1:46.8 Mini = 1:46.9 Tina= 1:47.0
Usually minis eat front tyres more than the others.

I disagree. I get identical times in the Mini and the Cortina with the Jag 1.5 secs off the pace, when it hasn't blown up!
LOL I try to pass on the pearls of wisdom from the SBRC Testing Department and you just won't have it! My Mini is now 3 seconds faster than my Jag and much easier to drive and you can drive it like you stole it and it still asks for more! Not tried the Cortinal myself.

Oh, I expect a well setup well driven mini will be fastest, but I prefer the Armchair.
EDIT: Seems like several people are getting the Mini much faster than the Jag, though I don't. So:
Jag 4.2 now allowed
Sorry Stig, I know you hate cars changing. The Tina is now for masochists and those who want a challenge, not much I can do about that now.

hmmmmmmmm............... maybe it is me, well lets face it it MUST be me, but I actually like the Dagenham Dustbin and find it great fun to drive, provided that I remeber to brake early enough for the front end to have a chance of grabbing some grip. The Longbridge Longboat is just so far out of my driving style, that I struggle to get sub 1:50 and that involves melting the tyres over a single lap, must be me again I guess?? The Magic Mini just feels like cheating as the cornering is just awesome. More like a slot racing car than something relying on rubber and friction, but I suspect that using it over multiple laps might mean that I need a couple of pitstops for front end tyres?? or is that just me again???

I quite like this Tina as well, I can get it to drift in a useful way. The 4.2 Jag is at least a second faster than the 3.8 so it might make it less of a Mini walkover. A well driven mini may still win, but there may now be some Jags hounding them. The Tina will now be the slowest option, but with enough skill could place well. The Lotus Cortina is wayy too fast for this group. I haven't done extensive testing here, but usually the PG minis eat front tyres, though they would probably last the race.

Love the 4.2 Jag but keeping the engine in one piece is a good trick. Even when being very careful on my gear changes the engine seems to suffer. I shall be in and out of the grid like a fiddler's elbow, trying to find an engine with 100% left in it!

Lap times from last night on the practice server: Giuseppe Reali: 1:42.0 (Mini 970) EvilClive: 1:46.? (Cortina GT) SuperSwift: 1:45.9 (Jag 3.8 MKII) Had a fun time chasing EvilClive and trying to follow Giuseppe. The cars have very, very different characteristic which makes racing them *interesting* See you tomorrow!

I only did a few laps to fix the car for qualifying More than anything else I'd like to meet other drivers in training, instead of the usual 4 cats, so as to exchange ideas, setup and also to know each other better However, a best time of 1.41.5 and I have done with a full tank is slower than 1.5 sec Ciaoo

From where I am standing ( which incidentally is a loooong way back on the grid) this looks like a 2 class race. The minis are going to vanish into the distance and the Jags and Cortinas will exchange dents and paint samples for the minor places. Sooo tempting to take a mini, but I do sort of like the Ford............decisions, decisions hmmmmmmmmmmmm

The 4.2 Jag will be in front of this battle but may struggle to match the Mini, although I'm quicker in the Jag so who knows what the alien classes may make of it. We will both be watching from a distance but you can see quite a way ahead on this circuit. Very distracting, almost a certain crash!

Not that my times mean much, but.... I am something like 2 secs faster in the 4.2 Jag than the Mini. Which is why it wasn't there initially...

I know this is off topic, but could any one inform me of the procedure to invite a friend to join the racing at UKPnG. His name is ChrisR and he is a competent racer. Raced last night with us at NoGrip and enjoyed P&G. Any info appreciated, thanks Bob.
