As we normally all just stop for four new tyres, I thought I'd mix it up & opted for a late splash & dash.
As I finished with tyre wear of 37.6 & could see Apex was gaining 3+ secs per lap.... I'll count this as one I got away with
First half of the race, Apex just eeked out his lead a little each lap & when he pitted the gap was at about 5 secs. I noticed NSFast seemed to have leapfrogged him with his pitstop & suspected i was going to run into trouble late on as maybe NSFast had also experimented with strategy? Then my tyre wear seemed to accelerate & laptimes started dropping. Missed the pit entry with 4 to go & a very slidy car, but pitted next lap & was relived to see an 18 secs gap, but Apex (who'd gotten back past NSFast) certainly was making a good dent in that over the final few laps.
