Moderator's Report

Mostly clean but once again drivers do not make any allowance for warp in the early stages. Please do so. It is unfair to other drivers if your own connection is poor to drive without taking that in to account.

Server replay time: 0h01m07s

Tristan drives straight through Clive. Robert behind slows and gets into a side by side contact with Doni. This is just a follow on.

Normally this would be a big penalty but in this case there is very clear evidence of warp. The second incident is possibly exacerbated by warp.

Drivers are reminded that if other cars are disappear they can't see you either. Tristan could have been more cautious going up the hill and for that reason he receives a warning. Being the quickest car when others are warping is not a good idea.

Unlucky for Clive and Robert.

Fine run by Dean to score P2.  He and I swapped about a number of times in a thriller.  That was fun.

You and Dean did have a good race going with each other. I think that's the only reason I was able to stay close for the first several laps. Every time one of you ran a clean lap I'd lose about a second.

Comes Lap21 and with about a half dozen seconds in hand over Dean, I dipped into the Bosch Kurve.  Sadly, I'd lost my bearings on the differential between the roadway, the grass verge and the stout stone wall on the outfield.  I kissed the wall which propelled me across the road into the barrier opposite.  Spinning wildly and with all manner of expensive sounds going on, the car righted itself in the proper direction and I proceeded just inches ahead of Dean.  It soon became apparent that I'd suffered some pretty nasty damage to the engine and first Dean then Greg breezed by with ease.  Only managed another half lap before it gave up entirely.

That was a shame! I thought Dean hit the rock wall there too at one point but he just slid very wide through Bosch. Nice save Dean! You had a podium finish easily Doni had you kept it together. I had no way to challenge you for position. I'm glad you got some points and got some good driving time. Looks like you had a half decent weekend with some good seat time.

I curse these eyeballs sometimes.  In our race today, things started to get a little foggy from about Lap08 onwards.  Very hard to focus.  Comes the end of March, they'll have a combined total of 130 man-years worth of wear and tear on them and they just don't work as well as they used to.  Now that I think of it, a lot of things don't perform as they once did.   laugh

That's not good. I'm starting to suffer from it some myself. I had a couple wrecks practicing Friday night because of eye strain. I wish I had been here since the beginning. I've been driving on the computer in some form for 20 years now. At 45, I've noticed my eyes aren't as good as they were at 35. My reflexes are a little slower. And most troubling is sometimes I lose all my mental focus. I definitely don't have nerves of steel anymore. I'll go flying by a brake marker occasionally not even realizing it until I'm 100m past. I find it very impressive how fast some of the guys a good bit older than me are. At 55, I'll likely have to drive with the Privateers if I can still see and concentrate. I miss getting on a good roll where I can do nothing wrong. I've only been able to do it once in 4 months of GPL online.

Now ain't that a crying shame
Now wouldn't it be a real drag if we were all the same

Lots of cars disappearing for everyone it seems at the start of lap1! Anyway I survived.

Great scrap Andreas, sorry I took myself out and ended our fun. Good luck to you and everyone else still running.

Yeah, the disappearing of the cars in the beginning was scary. But I survived, too.  Smiley

The scrap was going on, and I enjoyed it very much.  Wink In the end I was indeed lucky to get a good Score-place.
