Dean runs into the rear of David's car as he brakes for the hairpin. It is early in the race and it cannot be said that David braked any earlier than he normally would have as too few laps have been completed.

This is a simple rear end shunt where Dean was caught out by the braking of the car in front.

Penalty for Dean Simple rear end Shunt

Lap 5 and Nicky is closing on Fran down the main straight. Fran runs a little deep into the hairpin and has to slow dramatically to avoid the haybales. Nicky spots an opportunity and takes tighter line into the hairpin.

As Nicky starts to accelerate out of the corner Fran has also gathered himself together and is also standing on the gas. For a few crucial seconds just before the contact neither driver can see the other and they both end up trying to claim the same piece of tarmac.

In this instance I can see why Nicky made the move that he did as it looked likely that Fran was going to hit the haybales and he would have a clear passing opportunity. However Fran did get his car stopped and turned quite neatly although he lost a great deal of time to Nicky.
This falls under the ruling about contested pass, where the cars emerge from the corner side by side after a passing attempt is made.
The guidelines are clear about this and say that each driver should keep to his own 50% of the track width.
Fran undoubtedly stayed on his side of the track but unfortunately Nicky's trajectory took him across the centre line and he made contact with Fran's car.

Penalty for Nicky. Contested pass the overtaking driver did not keep to his own side of the track on the exit of the corner

Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 0h06m27s

Lap 5 and Fran's extra power in the winged Mclaren takes him past Axels's Eagle on the run towards the Esses.
Fran makes a clean pass well before the corner and brakes at his normal point. Axel has switched his car to the inside and brakes much later than Fran. This takes him 99.99% past Fran as they enter the left hander effectively regaining the place he had just lost.
Although this all happened very quickly, there is no doubt that Axel had made the pass under braking and that Fran made the error when he turned in and hit the rear of the Eagle.
Penalty for Fran contested pass where the overtaking car has 100% overlap and contact is made.

BTW I have registered but it still says I dont have a licence to drive this series  Roll Eyes

No problem Bernie, just show in chat and we will give you the PW!

PS
I can't find a 69 car in this 69X choice, only "Antique Automobiles"  Tongue
Best of them is 3,5 sec slower than a heavy driver...

Yes the T86B is slower than the Lotus 49 (between 1 and 2 sec for me) but is 10 times easier to drive ! You should try it !

got the same impression.
Lotus49 seems to discover each turn every lap as unknown land....

more helpless only the track programming, some appex cant be driven as an steady circle but more then a hard edge remote controll the car in there. Thats , for me , makes it inpossible to work out any usefull setup Smiley

Can't make this one, as Gareth seems to be a no-show Smiley

So happy F2-ing & 69-ing on this fine (HA!) Valentine's evening.
Hope it's drier/calmer than it is here!

Next time fellas.

Cheers,
Dave.

in F2 race,  from 10 or 11 on the grid, I took my ever best begin of race and was 3 rd at the begin of the 2nd lap ...when I was rear ended by Dean at the end of the long straight ...and was back to the last position  Sad

Not my night at all .

first the track wouldn't load for the F2 race due to me having swapped from OGL2 to OGL to try and cure some small grapfix problem , by the time I had finished mucking around unloading - re loading tracks etc was to late to join , the race was nearly over  Undecided

checked my 69X was ok off line and felt confident enough to go make a cuppa , when I came back , tried to join the race but the soddin "join " button was greyed out , GEM was telling  me I dont have the 69X mod installed .

No idea what the problem is apart from GPL and me not being 100% compatible though not surprised as I never got the 69's running properly on my previous attempts.

Same here, as long as there are no fun cars for me, I am out!

F2: after messing up the start, kept my nose clean and got back to P2, but Martin was too fast, and more important very consistent! Well deserved Martin, flawless race! Smiley

69X: suffered most from startcrash, was last, but gradually worked my way up the order, again mostly others went off or spun. But at a certain point steered in too late and hit the bridge at the Esses...

I had loads of fun!

In the F2 race I couldn't find a good tow so qualified well down the order in the BT14, but I could profit from mistakes by others and ended up in P5 Smiley . Quite happy with that although who knows what kind of result I could have achieved had I qualified better.

In the 69 race I had a good quali lap, although again no tow so started well down the order again. Had a blistering start overtaking two or three Lotussus off the line and managed to keep my nose clean during the start melee, and found myself in P2! Andreas went flying past some laps later but I managed to hold on and salvage P3 in his slipstream, untill that became P2 when Evil went off at the Esses! Tried to pressurize Andreas a bit untill I spun on the last lap. Still, P2 in the BT20, well pleased Smiley .

I'd like to say that, even though I won't use it, for me the 4WD cars are back in, because otherwise there won't be enough winged cars to race against as the heavies are rather underrepresented Smiley .

Thanks Nicky thats kind of you to offer , I think the problem is I only have 69 1.3 mod installed .

I have just now downloaded the 69 extra mod from speedgeezers? It looks a really compicated business to install properly so going to try the install tomorrow (sunday ) as I am naggered right now .

Hopefully it will all go well for me .

Will let you know if we has any problems and hopefully we can sort them in iGOR together .

Again many thanks my friend  Smiley

Sorry for that. I was getting pressured from behind myself, locked up, and last ditch avoidance move didn't work. I just watched replay, and saw how much you suffered for the ridiculous GPL physics.  Embarrassed
