Moderator's Report

Nice clean Red Zone and only one reported incident.

In the Red Zone itself Jethro gets a good start but slightly over-rotates in front of Doni and he is bumped off. Doni had nowhere to go - not for the last time...

Server replay time: 0h11m46s

Robert, (in his own words) loses it at Adeneuer Forst and hits the tree. He checks prib and waits for Art and Iestyn (whose spin is unrelated), and thinks he has a gap to Doni, not taking the fast piece of track into account as well waiting and not double checking prib.

This sums it up pretty well. It was difficult for Robert as he is unsighted by the track and Iestyn is right by him making it impossible to hear. Nonetheless he should not, given the topography of the track spun straight on.

Unfortunate for all involved.

The rules have this: Only practical place to join is onto the racing line but topography prevents rejoining driver from checking if another car is approaching. Rejoining driver pauses to listen for approaching car. Nothing heard so rejoins promptly but a car appears and contact is made.

This does not quite fit but I don't believe Robert was deserving of a penalty.

Bobbie: I'm not PO'd.  The shock has worn off.  Smiley  I understand the nature of racing and that it can turn sour in a heartbeat.  No hard feelings, amigo.  I've responded to the incident report notification I received in my email inbox and have requested no action be taken.

I don't use Pribluda and the thought occurs that perhaps you didn't see me coming in your display since I'm not transmitting a Prib signal.  Is that possible?

I stepped away from the 'puter for a bit but came back late to watch the last lap.  Only four runners!  LOL!  I was watching Greg in his brilliant charge to catch Tristan and caught his off in the tricky leftie between Ex-Mühle and Bergwerk.  Shades of 1976!  This is precisely where Niki Lauda had his life-threatening shunt!

Doni

Thanks Doni Smiley No, I checked prib and saw a 300m gap between you and Iestyn (prolly was 300m to me), but I hesitated and 300m isn't much at 140mph. Should have double checked prib and waited...

Shock has worn off here too, but still very annoyed about making a silly mistake, in the first place losing focus on Lap 2. Ah well, I can put a stripe through my two bad results of the season. Need to be flawless the rest of the season if I want something.

Again, grats Tristan, Greg and Arf, and well done Clive. Finishing with pro settings is always admirable here. Too bad Tommie, but still good points...

Took no notice of Pribluda and couldn't hear Doni next to me in T2, and decided colliding with him was a good idea. Gave me a good chance to attack without any distractions around.

The amount of cars dead after lap 1 was rather a lot!

Hi Smiley

.....5 on the grid, was not so bad after a ( allways ) difficult qualif here.....where we want to do good but it don't work all the time....but still confident for the race 'cause I know I have a chance of podium if there is some retirements in front of me....
....I take a good start and gain one place at T1.....but I go quickely off just before AREMBERG turn, and loose 5 places Angry.........then, I restart but re-go off just before ADENAUER FORST !!!......damned !....I ended the race of a ferrari !....sorry!....after this I try to be fast but safe and sudenly one lap later I was 3....then 2nd......and leading the race at 3 laps from the finish line, whith around 20s advance on Greg ....then I just check Prib and controle the gap but it was just enought to win , one more lap and Iwill not able to resiste to the Ferrari... Shocked..oufff !

....well a lucky win but a win !..... laugh

Thx all and Cu at Zeltweg .......I'll take the Ferrari Wink

Hi Smiley

.....then, I restart but re-go off just before ADENAUER FORST !!!......damned !....I ended the race of a ferrari !....sorry!....

Yeah, that was me. On the right was Evil (if I´m right) and you where turning to the left. So I had nowhere to go...My Race was over and you won...Very disappointing for me. Had some hopes for the Nordschleife, but so it was a waste of spending tokens for the Red Machine.
Will stick with the Cooper next time again.

A bientout! or something..
