Moderator's Report

No incident during red zone.

Only one reported incident fo the rest of the race.

Server replay time: 0h09m30s

Arf Arf Arf rear ended Dave Rainier.
I think Arf braked hard in the end but it was too late.

Simple Rear End Shunt: Penalty 1 Place

The victim made no mistakes and was driving their normal line at normal speed. The shunter had lost control on the approach to the braking zone and consequently braked later than intended.

I think Arf braked hard in the end but it was too late.

That was a very competitive race.  The laps times were very close.  I had a good battle with Evil in the early stages but I made a slight mistake and he was through.  I was on the limit the whole time trying to keep up with Axel and Evil.  So it was no surprise when I made another mistake with 5 laps to go which let Ronnie and Andreas past but I'm pretty sure they would have passed me anyway.  Pleased with 6th but sorry it was at the expense of my team mate Cookie Sad

Yeah, I was on the limit too, until I lost the car under braking into Stowe when my headache won, I retired.

After a good practice race yesterday with Tristan (he overtook me around the outside of Becketts in the McLaren!), where he was only 1 tenth off my time, I knew this would be a good race. Managed to get pole from Axel by half a tenth in Q late on.

I usually don't have a race plan, but today I knew I needed to scamper off like Vettel. Start went well, but Cookie's was better, and I slotted in behind before Maggotts. Got a good run on the Hangar straight and went down the inside, leaving space on the outside, in case Cookie braked deep. At mid-corner, I saw he was on my tail so I tried to accelerate out best I could, while he was under attack from Arf Arf Arf and Tristan behind. On Lap 2, Cookie got close, and I realised I needed to 'channel the Clark' and drive as smoothly as possible. This then meant I got a gap going before Tristan got into 2nd. As Cookie, Arf, Dean and Ronnie P dropped back it then became a case of 'doing a Rosberg' and managing it to the end. 9 laps from home, I noticed Tristan starting to close and put the hammer down for a low 30, which led to a few mistakes near the end. Really enjoyed the driving and trying to be smooth, which gave better performance on some fuel in the Lotus-BRM.

Congrats to the finishers! Looks really tight in the championship battle. Hopefully I can get a PB next time out at Nurburgring.
