Noticed that F7 is good for stewards, to check track cutting in the future.
F7 => Freeze camera on the spot and use mouse to swivel.

anyone know how to turn off the race position ribbon along the bottom of the screen? Its annoying and clashes with the few apps I use.

Anyone know what the 'less cracked screen' mod is required and to what file?
After last nights rear impact cracked my screen it kind of ruined my race from very impaired vision!

I found this on assettocorsa.net

In the meantime, an easy solution to make this sensibility lower:

Look in "Assettocorsa\system\cfg\assetto_corsa.ini"
for this lign:

[DAMAGE]
GLASS_THRESHOLD=0.65

Changing the value to 0.90 for example still will crack the windshield in case of a normal impact, but won't crack for a single one light tap on your rear bumper.

I tested it and it works ok, but I found it still too fast and set on 1.10. I don't know what the reality is on car damage, but the glass shattering is ridicules and with this the car damage is the same without the too quickly shattered screen.

Thanks Jester, will edit the file accordingly as it's inaccurate at moment.

I think it useful to add the link Tony provided when I raised the problem of my virus/malware stopping AS.  I've at last found the time and energy to write to iolo Support Center who provided me with step-by-step instructions to exclude the so called "false positive", in other words, it detects something that could be a virus, but in fact is not.

I have now exclude this file from my real time and scan protection and successfully installed AS which is now working.  rockon

Good to hear you're back in action Bill and that you've sorted out AC. We have an E30 M3 race on Wednesday which I think you'll enjoy  Smiley

Spoke too soon, just had the lunch call.  I had all the cars and tracks but since lunch I've tried to drive and my selected event won't load.  I get the multi point wheel and the word Loading but the wheel is stationary and times out after a while.  Roll Eyes Huh

Any Suggestions - have the latest video drivers which I downloaded for the GTL problem.

There are two files you need to stop blocking ACS.exe and AssettoCorsa.exe. One handles the front end GUI the other is the actual game engine, when you get on track. Sounds like your PC is blocking access to the other! Blimey you run some serious AV/ firewall there, industrial grade is it Bil?

Thanks, it shouldn't be blocking any files required to run AS. It's only blocking a steam/steamapps/download file. (Not sure of the exact route off the top of my head.)

Will check later to see my installation still has those two exe files.
