SROU was "unfindable" all of today (until just now), so no password (until Iestyn gave it to me in chat) so no practice so no setup (or even knowing what cars were permitted) so too freaking slow to even give anyone any sort of a fight for 2nd to last so go find something else to do. thumbdown

First of all,  thanks to all entrants during the season & of course the mod-team/server-monkeys.  Has been (mostly) good fun.
Unfortunately,  not much of a turn-out for Friday/last events of the series.  I guess Celebrity Masterchef was unmissable (just record/iPlayer it!).

Unfortunately #2,  no time for practice/qually so straight into the race for the GTs.  Should have probably taken the trusty Porsche 910, but never mind.  Was waaay of the pace anyway & the final result maybe looks quite flattering where it really should not.   Probably lucky to have not been lapped!

I found the Can Ams a little easier/more enjoyable.  Again the results probably look a but more flattering than they should - but there seemed to be a lot of bad luck involving the cars behind.  Hopefully not involving me!

A long slog this Friday series.  Hopefully see you next time...

Cheers,
Dave.

Yup, thanks to the moderators, organizers and competitors, it's been a great season for me.  I baptized my sexy new fast internet connection with a win in the Chaparral, but in the Can Ams Iestyn's Porsche could not be denied!  Nice to finally be able to see everyone clearly.

I'm so looking forward to being able to sleep in on Saturdays!

Gratulations to the well deserved championship Mark!  thumbup2 thumbup2 thumbup2 thumbup2

In the GT's I had only a short time to admire your constant presence, fighting with Sergio...
For the CA I wasn't good enough prepared Roll Eyes and gave Iestyn the advice to take the Porsche Roll Eyes
I still don't like this track!

Hope to see you all and some more in S27 in a revised Friday Mixed Series Wink

Any suggestions are welcome!

I'd like to suggest having longer GT races, with more access to the faster cars Grin

Looked rock solid Mark, from what little I saw of your car.  A huge improvement for a championship winner!  It's safe for you to slow down now.  Meanwhile, I spent my time sideways, and retired early on frazzled tyres.

Good to hear the Series will return, but Mark's call for faster cars could be self defeating.  Slower drivers make a larger grid.  Slower drivers need faster cars.  Cookie needs to attract more Heavies, to make Fridays successful.  angel

One track suggestion - Pacific Raceway would be fun for all the cars we drive.

How about making teams of 1x light + 1x heavy and have a team championship.

So the light driver has to support the heavy to become as fast as possible.
(This made me faster when I drove with Juha and Sergio in PSC.)

It's good to think of ways to make a small championship bigger and better.  If each Light driver could find a Heavy, they might teach them to become lighter Smiley   10 + 10 and all could drive the same cars, or else use the usual handicap to keep the racing closer.

But, after 2 Seasons, there have not yet been 10 Heavies in a race.  And the Porsche Cup with teams did not end well.  In the real world, drivers are paid to race in a team.

In the summer break I plan to do some open GT fun races on Fridays.

Some ideas:

- use the new pitstop patch, with pitstops for the lights
- lights use each car once
- the SC mod tracks for a complete Rank
- I'd love to use the 60fpsV1 patch!

What's your problem with 60fps? Technical or ideological? Roll Eyes

Tonight we will try some laps at Spa, everybody is welcomed.

Practice Server was running at Nurburgring last night, so my car quickly became confused at Spa. Angry  And with such a short advance warning, the hedges were not trimmed, and I'd too few laps to get the job done.  And the Hay fever was really bad too!  So some advanced warning, and a well prepared and friendly track, with more weeds than grass would be perfect. A little from column A, a little from column B.   Cool   Mostly it because I'm really lazy, and don't want to go through all the 60 frames setup hassle.
