Good stuff.

Will be interesting to see how the 76 cars get on at the short twisty tracks like this, and whether they are suitable for racing on. Please post your feedback after the race, as it will help us with the track selection for S1.

What cars are people thinking of taking for this class?

I'll try a variety for S0, but most likely a 911 in S1.

Presumably it depends on the scoring system we adopt. If we have a system that rewards slower cars then I will try to do that.

Really looking forward to this, i love the 76 911  Kiss Kiss Cool

But also looking forward to trying out some of the other beasties on offer. I hope they are more evenly matched than the GT65 cars were Undecided

I hate the 911, it must be driven too clean. I like to throw around with me cars. So I still have to look what car I'm gonna take. Will post some times in the next couple of days. I'm just afraid that this small track will cause lot's of accidents or hairy situations Undecided.

Good point about the track Rufus. Arn't these little club circuits going to be too small for the 76 cars? I thought we'd need at least medium size tracks and preferably GP circuits.  Undecided
I didnt notice it wasnt full Anders  Sad

A short track or two may be good for variety, or we may find they aren't worth racing on. I had a quick go yesterday against the AI and it went better than I expected, but that's not quite the same as racing against real people.

Rcing on these cut down tracks is'nt as much fun as the full ones IMO but on the bright side I think I learn more from it.

At Anders I really am going far quicker through the two right handers(the ones at the end of the runway on long version)
than I would have done after months of driving the full length circuit.

Such a short track forces you to squeeze everything you can out of less corners, well it does me anyway Grin Some people seem to be able to put in 10/10 even on the really long circuits but I need these little nadgery ones to hone my skill, such as it is Cheesy

Here are my times, same drill:
BMW Alpine                54.557: Doesn't feel fast, but on this twisty track this slightly underpowered Bimmer can do average times.
BMW Schnitzer            54.325: This more heavy BMW is a bit harder here, but the increase of power will cause it to faster.
'69 Corvette               54.219: Strange, such a tank, faster than the two Bimmers. But I drive this car on a regular base and it's fun to throw around.
Pantera                      52.678: My fav car in this class by far. The sound, speed and looks, awesome. Because of that I can really push this car. Time should be a bit faster                   with some more laps.
Capri                          53.248: This car doesn't feel at home here, lot's of weight, bad braking. But still, it can do good things here.
Escort                        54.629: Man this car is tricky. Although I won the Escort cup here, I can't get my head around this car, especially the brakes Undecided.
Porsche 906               53.538: Fun car to drive, loves the corners, but hates the kerbs. This track suits this car, many corners.
Porsche 911 (red)       55.333: Told ya I don't like this car  Smiley. I like it when the back comes around when accelerating in corners, but in this car the front will move                               straight when trying to accelerate.
Porsche 911 (Whale)   54.920: This car is less powerfull but has more downforce, causing it to give an edge on this track. But still I can't go fast with it.
Porsche 914               54.437: How odd is this. I never thought this car could move, but I was faster in this than in the 911's. But for me this car has no character and is                        boring to drive. The best thing about the car for me is...the funny headlights  Cheesy

The comments are all my opinion, not facts.
As you can see the times are very close. This can be because the track is very short, but also because the car are far more competitive than the GTC65.

Thanks Ruskus. Like you say, the short length of the track makes the times closer, but the 76 cars do seem to be much more evenly matched than the GTC-65s.

A few random times from me:

Capri 310053.485
90653.631
911 (small wing)53.9
Alpina54.8
91454.9

The Capri was certainly the nicest to drive, but I suspect it will cook its tyres quickly. The 906 was close behind and would probably be faster in expert hands, and would be much kinder to its tyres. The 911 is very quick but tricky. The Alpina just doesn't communicate at all well. The 914 felt much quicker than it was and there was no weight to the steering at all which made it impossible to feel what the car was doing.

I had a quick praccy here last night and tried a few cars out. I was quickest in the 911 with a 1:54.01, followed by the 914 and CSL. Then Capri and finally escort on a disapointing 1:56. Didnt try pantera, corvette and 906. I only did short test runs so hopefully can improve my times.

Have to say, i think this shorter track is totally un-suitable for these cars, its going to turn into a demolition derby banger race Sad  That reverse hairpin turn where cars virtually come to a standstill to be able to turn in, is going to cause multiple pile-ups and the rest is too tight like a small scalextric layout.
I tried a quick race with 20 AI cars on Pro, and you just end up with a train of cars hitting each other up the jacksy at that tight turn and door handle scraping the rest of the lap.
Just my opinion obviously Kiss
