You may have read in Pelle's post that he mentions "advanced setup". More details of this can be found here http://www.gamers-crib.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13173

The current view of UKGTL is that we would prefer drivers not to use this as it appears to offer an unfair advantage. However if enough drivers choose to employ this aid then we will encourage it's use and promote it accordingly. I have setup a thread for discussion here.

Congrats to Pelle on an excellent victory, much faster than I could manage in the Capri (2.21s!  Shocked).

I didn't have too bad a run to 2nd place despite a few errors. First after Pelle went off I led for a whole 2 corners before changing down one gear too many & spinning off myself. This put me back to 3rd just behind Postal & following him closely at the end of the same lap I braked too late for the fast left before the chicane & went off hard into the barriers. Thought that would be race over, but the car seemed fine afterwards although I'm sure it contributed to some uneven front tyre wear & terminal understeer for the rest of the race.

Final error was when I couldn't stop in time to avoid rear-ending Postal & sent him spinning into the gravel. Big apologies for that Postal  :'(.
In the end happy with 2nd.

Happy Christmas to all, cya for the Sprints next week.  rockon

Bad race for me, lots of offs. After a late pistop (lap 15 or 16) I crashed
and damaged my suspension so I had to pit again and quitted.

Merry Christmas to you all guys. CU next week.

Can't say that this track will ever be in my top 10. Took the Porsche 906 as it felt the nicest to drive and I was fastest in it during offline praccy. Hadn't realised that the Capri was going to be the car to drive, I hated it  Roll Eyes
Anyway everything was going ok until I lost concentration, headed on to the grass, couldn't stop and hit a barrier at full chat and killed the car.
Watched the others racing which was fairly entertaining. Hope to do better in the three remaining races.

Hope you all have a very happy holiday with your loved ones and that Santa brings you that present you were hoping for. See you all on the 29th.

If you can handle it, the Capri obviously was the choice here.  I can't, so had to pick another car.  Offline, I tested the 911RSR & Pantera too, but while I could lap faster than in the 906, I could certainly also spin off a lot more  Cheesy - add to that that they both use more fuel and munch tires at a much higher rate; especially the Panty, and the choice was a no-brainer.

Qualified 4th and got ok off the line, but Clive suddenly swerved into my path, so we touched and I had to brake. That gave Tony the opportunity to slip through.  Passed him at the end of L1, when I got a better exit from the chicane.  He chased me over the following laps, but suddenly was gone, when he went off.  Gaps to Capris in front and cars behind were growing, so all by myself, until I suddenly spotted a dustcloud at the end of the long semi-straight.  That was Geoffers and Postal, digging themselves out of the sand, and I got myself wedged between them.  Soon passed by Geoffers, when I overshot my braking point.

Race then quited Down, until after my pitstop at the end of L14.  Suddenly realised I had Postal chasing me.  He got past, when I ran wide going into the corner after the long straight, but then spun himself a lap later. Passed him and was chased for a couple of laps, until he passed me on the straight.  I did the gentlemanly thing and left the door open for him to pass, as he was clearly faster  Cool  Of course tried to hang on as best I could, hoping for another mistake, but that didn't happen.  Thus finished as started - 4th.

Grats to the podium, especially Pelle - he looked rather normal when we met earlier this year, but obviously is pure alien...  Grin

Commiserations to Bill - I passed your 'shimmering' car just before you left, so guess your PC crashed or you somehow lost connection  Sad

Merry Christmas everyone; hope to see you all next Monday.

Cheers,
Erling

Looks like the Capri was the car to take, but only had time to try the 906, which turned out to be a joy to drive, disappointed to be 10+ secs slower than you fast guys and when Pelle lapped me he had the cheek to wiggle the back of his car at me LOL. Had an almost perfect pit stop just forgot what button for limiter.

Grats to Pelle on race win
Grats to Podium

Merry Christmas to everyone

It most commonly happens if the installed track of the driver concerned has been obtained from another sim site. Why it happens to you and you alone is baffling. Can you describe the location of your "Locations" folder? e.g. C:/GTL/Gamedata/Locations or somesuch.

Really nice to have had a race on my home track with GTL! Had a blast. The Cathedral of Speed! punk I planned to race the Capri here because i didn't;t had the chance to race it anywhere before. Indeed not the easiest of rides available, but i reckon if i could maintain a reasonable race pace i should end up somewhere upfront.

The car suffered from some serious understeer and front tires who would not keep heat, but it seems Pelle got it dialed in nicely even without the use of Advanced Setup! Dude you got me puzzled!  I Am Not Worthy
Did qually with my 1,5 year old daughter on my lap as she would not go to sleep! Luckily my wife came home with some 5 min. to race start. Pfew
Good to see some other racers turning up too for this GTL race!  thumbup1
My start was good running alongside Geoffers, but had to settle for 3rd place at T1 as i was on the outside. They showed me how to drive a Capri around here as keeping the gap as small as possible was all i could do. After an off from Geoffers we had some nice scraps for 2nd and later on with Erling for 3rd spot.

Well done to all contenders and thanks for racing! Appreciate this track being on the 2015 calender again! (indeed it needs some learning, but can be rewarding to drive if you can get the flow of this historical track)

See you guys next week.

Roguk, look in your Assen folder. Do any files have the extension (three characters following the dot) in capital letters?
