It's just Geoffers who actually likes these fever boxes then?
I quite enjoy minis for a change. Used to be mini mad in my youth, unfortunately the insurance companies never shared my enthusiasm for them. Trying to insure anything with the word cooper attached to it was nigh on impossible so made do with 850, 1000 and eventually a couple of 1275GT models and the occasional ride in my uncle's red 1275 S (in the passenger seat of course as he wasn't daft enough to let me drive it)

Although I don't get on with the P&G ones as well as I do the ones in GTL, could get them setup to oversteer into corners really nicely, just cannot iron out the understeer from the P&G ones.

Thanks Geoffers. It is reassuring to know that it is not just me who is finding a big difference between GTL and PnG. I now find that I can usually cobble a setup together in GTL and tweak it to respond as I would like.....but not here in PnG. I think someone has re-written some of the laws of physics, or maybe manipulated the co-efficient of friction for tarmac and the effect of centripedal forces on lumps of metal.

Gave up on 10th lap, as not really enjoying it. I quite like single spec races, but like with Porka's, the car is just too extreme, so a mini only race is not my cup of tea. Shame as I like the circuit.

Bit of a contrast to our epic battle last week eh Legz? . I thought these cars were so lame I ducked out during qually . I want to race racing cars not micro-manage dreadfully under-steering trolleys

it's not the lack of power, I always enjoy an outing in the Elite & a good few other lower end cars, I've just never understood the mini fascination

Results and Replay PostedWell I enjoyed it, had some cracking dicing with Clive which got a bit physical once, sorry about that was great fun for most of the race, was almost catching Jester at one point, but as the tyres went off my driving became more and more erratic as the car wandered about the road and the grass at times. You will like next week's race MJ

Still have "bastard" in my garage waiting for time (read money) to restore it. It is 1968 Cooper Mk2 according to papers but the engine is from bigger one. Last time I drove it was 10...ish years ago and I can`t remember understeer at all ... probably because of 185/10 Dunlops ... Race? Since I still have big problems with internet, I was waiting someone to say that I am laggy to quit the race ... but everybody stayed silent so I kept going. Had some nice battles with Giuseppe Manzone (btw, welcome) and exploit better tyres on Britax to beat Fede in latest stage of the race. Must say that I really enjoy races with "weak" cars ... best way to learn and respect racing lines because you don`t have power to cover mistakes ...

Minis are like Porsches, you need to drive them in a particular way. Seem to have the hang of driving Minis but still struggle with those tail-heavy contraptions! Had a good race here, took a little while to get up to speed & couldn't stay with Giuseppe & GT in the early laps, but once I had got warmed up I was able to keep pace & nipped into 2nd place when GT got on the grass before the bridge. Pretty well kept the gap constant to Giuseppe until around half distance when I started to gain a little, I think my setup was better when the tyres were worn. Took a long time but I eventually got on Giuseppe's tail with 3 laps to go but could not quite get close enough to try for the lead. Nearly managed it exiting T1 on the final lap but had to lift into the kink otherwise we would both have gone off. Then just got a couple of wheels on the grass after the bridge & spun , luckily had plenty of time to recover & finish a distant 2nd. Congrats to Giuseppe & Ed Cya all at Castle Combe.

Minis are like Porsches No, they're really not..! You need to drive them in a particular way. Yes, GTL minis i understood and could be competitive in, even if i did not really enjoy driving them. These PnG minis just baffle me completely..! Quallied at the back as expected, but made up a place or two at the start. Someone was lagging horribly and i dropped back again, not that it really made much difference. Understeered into the bridge early on and lost touch with the back of the pack, then spent the remainder of the race dropping further and further behind. Hope for better things next time. Congrats podium.

It was awful, although Matt did liven it up for me by trying to kill me. Only joking! What made it worse was all those "slow" people like Giuseppe, Geoffers and Tudor; miles away up front in their faster cars. Grats Federico, first non-Britax home. Grats podium. At least I get a better car next time.

Good race last night, but it was very hard, in the end I was part of the soggy bottom In the early laps of the race I managed to get a few seconds behind those that I tried to keep with fatigue Surely if the two mastiffs, Geoffers and Goldtop were closer I do not know who would win I apologize to Geoffers for having hindered, but I could not let you pass on the last lap Anyway I enjoyed it, I'll see you at the next
