Apologies to Mark for stalling in the middle of the track & also to Frex who also hit me I think. Not one of my better evenings.

err, was having a respectable (albeit on my own) race until I slammed into Geoffers stranded/stalled GT40 in the fast right hander. :'( Did hit the anchors and expect to be able to swerve around it but the Pantera just understeered into it at high speed and killed my engine and most of his car from the looks of it, swiftly followed by Frex doing the same. Looks like I was in the wrong car anyway as it was 3-5 secs off the pace of the Vettes and GT40 up front, but was hopeful of a decent haul of points. Got a good clean start (unlike some ) and soon found myself in 5th, where I stayed for a few laps until the early fall off vettes caught and blew past. Then was on for a good battle with Frex in his nippy 914 until said incident led to an early bath.

Had trouble getting PnG started tonight as it insisted that I input my serial# so had to hunt around for my dusty GTR2 cd. Eventually input the correct # just in time for quali. A quickly hobbled together setup got me to P5 only to suffer a big freeze up as the lights went green Must something seriously wrong as I was having this problem in GTL the other night and thought I'd cured it Anyway race was fun and after a long chase after Clive he eventually made a couple of mistakes which allowed me through for a lucky 4th Grats to John and pody and nice racing all

I should have gone with the harder tyres. At the start, a combination of trying not to ram Giuseppe and trying to coax the Vette into forward travel without snaking all over the track resulted in my smacking the wall on the left and letting the world and his mate come past! Soon found myself edging closer and closer to Geoffers but just when it was about to be payback time for the pressure that he put me under last week, he spun in front of me. Unlike those who followed, apparently, I missed him. I was just keeping Federico in sight when I noticed that Tudor was gaining on me. Eventually I made a mistake at T1 and he was right on me. I failed to make adjustments for the rate at which my tyres were giving in and not long after this I made another mistake and Tudor was past. The tyres became a nightmare and even though there was no pressure on the last lap I think that I had at least a couple of spins! With multiple cars, tyres and tracks we hardly ever do the same thing twice and there just isn't time to test all of the combinations over a race distance and it just comes down to guesswork!

A very short race for me, with my Elan made even shorter after connecting with the armour plated bootlid of a Vette. This wall of metal was presented to me as cars roared off the grid and parted just in time to allow me free and direct access to said bootlid!!!
For Sale...
One race tuned Elan. 1 careful owner. Unique and cutting edge aerodynamics to front end, with reduced length of wheelbase to improve cornering on tight circuits. Tinted windscreen best described as snot coloured with streaks of blood.
Offers?

LOL Was said Vette scraping itself along the left wall? EDIT: There's another Vette you can ram next week too! Get some practice in. If the server is running I might be able to give you a practice target tonight. EDIT 2: At least when Matt is banged up in the Bloody Tower we get the results posted quickly.

was on for a good battle with Frex in his nippy 914 I was in the Elan - SuperSwift was in the 914. And yes, judging from laptimes was looking forward to a good battle with MJ and Doni; but Doni vanished before the start and MJ retired soon after. I could see Geoffers stalled on the track a fair way ahead and thought it would be easy to nip by, but after MJ hit him it pushed his car into just the gap i was aiming for and then couldn't avoid the hit. Just one of those things. Surprised the engine kept going, but the handling was very much awry. Had another spin trying to work out how to drive it, and was thinking of retiring there and then. Kept at it though and once i'd reconfigured my earlier braking distances it wasn't too bad. Glad i kept going as had a nice battle with SuperSwift towards the end. Hard to pass here though and Swifty was keeping it nice and tidy. Then on the last lap got on the power a little too early coming out of T3 and spun. Good fun though. Congrats podium.

That was a tough race. The GT40 is always a (fun) challenge I got a good getaway (well, at least pointing in the right direction) with Federico right behind going into the first corner. I went a bit wide at T1, which probably worked in my favour as it meant I was slow at the apex of T2 and that prevented Federico from getting a good run onto the straight. After that I was able to stay in front on the first lap and settle into a rhythm. I was trying to take it easy on the first few laps as I'd had problems with the rears overheating in practice and the obvious high tyre wear which would become a problem at the end. It didn't work though, as Giuseppe had got in front of Federico before long and was catching quickly so I decided to forget that strategy, go as fast as possible and deal with the tyre situation later. I managed to maintain the gap with Giuseppe for the next few laps, then he dropped back by a few seconds so I was able to ease off after all. Probably just as well, as the last few laps were very messy. The tyres were gone and I doubt they’d have lasted much longer, especially if there was any pressure from behind. Grats Giuseppe & Federico for the podium PS - sorry Frex for the late pass. I thought I was going to catch you with plenty of time before the corner, but that little Lotus is surprisingly quick in the first sector!

Had a last minute call from a friend of mine, reminding me that the race was on in 6 minutes! So made a rush, took the 914 with exact same set-up as Spa from a few weeks ago (even same amount of fuel) and just made it to the start. But then found out my mate wasn’t in (unfortunately he had a connection problem). So starting from last position, I waited a few seconds before taking off. Glad I did because now I had a terrific view on the rear-ending Elan hitting a sitting Corvette that I could just avoid from the emerging smoke…. I could soon catch-up with Alex and wasn’t that much off the pace with the other cars. After the Pantera/Corvette/Elan clash, I was in 6th position and run a couple of laps on my own before frex hauled me in. The last couple of laps were nerve wrecking, with both cars having some tire trouble. Not the best circuit for overtaking, so I could just stand off the heat and finished in 6th position. As always, nice battling with you frex Congrats podium, see you next!
