*** This will be using the Simbin lobby ***
Make sure your LOCAL _IP_LOBBY.TXT file contains gtr2server1.gtr-evolution.com
Some have found that they can get straight in. Others have had to change their username or password or re-register
RACE START: RED, Then go on GREEN

Practice: 19:20 (GMT) (60 mins)
Qual 2: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40: 20 Laps (~ 45mins)
Cars allowed: GT40 MK1 (not Gulf), Pantera BOSS, Porche 914, Cobra 427, Daytona Coupe, Ferrari 275 Speciale, Lotus Elan.

N.B Car list will reduce by one car choice each event, the most popular car will be dropped from the list, if a tie, then the one with the most points of the tied cars will be dropped

Track:Portimao Download and install this
Time of Day Setting: 13:00
Weather: Dry
Start: Standing

Tyre wear: x2
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit-stops:  You must make a minimum of one pit stop during which you must take on at least 1 litre of fuel and/or change a tyre.

Server: simracing.org.uk P8SC
Password: see above

Championship Standings

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v3.1 from:  http://www.gtlw.co.uk/
(4) Watch our for pit lane speeding, some tracks support this.
(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface most of the time (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect

There are:
4x Very fast tracks, 4x Medium , and 4x slower/tighter tracks
And pitstops are only at half the events

There are 12 Events, and 15 cars, so there will be a choice of 4 cars at the last event.
The Le Mans Finale is the "revived" version, and (force field on) it's the one with the chicanes
After the way the last one turned out I have no choice.

Rough guide to track Pace and which events have Pit Stops:

Faster: Barcelona (Stop); Paul Ricard;  Spa (Stop); Le Mans revived (Stop);

Medium: Melbourne (Albert Park);  Imola (Stop);  Interlagos;   Mexico 67;

Slower: Hungaroring (Stop);   Keimola;   Portimao (Stop);  Albi 2006;

I think that the server needs changing to x2 Tyre Wear.

Also, why do we have braking help and stability help allowed?

And does it help?   Grin

Please NOTE:

Tony and I are both away next week, and no one has volunteered to do the server duties.
So. The server has been set for practice with the correct laps etc. The drivers will
need to advance to the next session when needed. I will do the results etc when I get
back next weekend. If someone does do the server then expect normal service.

Have a nice time Matt.

Sure we will be ok so long as the server stays on its feet and nobody turns it off to run anything else.   Roll Eyes

I'm afraid that SBR's will have to struggle on without me on Thursday evening.

Really bad luck for me too, as I will be en-route to Goodwood for the Revival weekend. yeah, I know it's tough but someone has to go there and smell the Castrol R and burning rubber  Undecided

Have fun.

I went a few years ago and it was just about the best "feel good" day-out that I can remember.  The whole day was just "exuberance" from start to finish.

Was even fun staggering about in a pitch black field trying to find my car!

Yeh, it appears both the GTR2 & GTL lobbies are down at the moment, hopefully not permanently!

Bart Westra used to run the MARA server without using the lobby.

You need the IP address and then I think it was done as a LAN connection.  Can't look at PnG at the minute to see what the options are to jog my memory.

Clive your in right, you just know the IP address of the server and put it in the page of LAN connection.
If necessary, you could use the German lobby pilsbierbude.de.
I will look tonight if it's still available  Huh

Trouble is that it is all a bit academic if we don't have a server jockey!  Sad

Mmm ... I could put the server T7 but I do not have permission to install the track and Vincenzo is on holiday in Sardinia  Sad
This evening I try to run it and see if it happens to be running the same version that we use.
In the evening I let you know  Roll Eyes

Thanks Erik.

Now we just have to hope that the AC types reinstate it correctly after their fun race tonight.
