Looks like it will be just me in the Jag then.

Not quite.

With some help from Giuseppe I have managed to concoct something that slides about like the E-Type of MJ's dreams.    Roll Eyes

Grr, early retirement for me. As soon as the lights changed (or did they?!) I lost all ffb and therefore had no feel at all, like turning my hands in thin air  :'(
Tried gamely to chase after the pack but it was hopeless and not enjoyable.  Sad

Had this before, it's my fanaled software so will remove it.

Grats to the dominant podium in the Fezzas and their formation finish. Just watched the Ferrari 250's at the Goodwood Revival and they did look good......but nowhere near the pace of the E-types in real life  Roll Eyes

Despite yet another dismal performance last night I was gratified to have modified the setup in qually to get the Jag to turn in as I would like. Maybe I have finally got a grip on how to get these ruddy PnG beasts to respond. that is something that has eluded me so far........I guess time will tell?

But it took me about 15 laps to gather the courage to use the power on oversteer to provoke a slide so that I could exit the corners faster. It became obvious that I had not been driving hard enough, because the tyres were still 80% good at the end of the race!!

By the time the last few laps came I had abandoned any hope of improving my lowly position and was "experimenting" with braking techniques and power slides  Grin I even eased up on the final straight to be sure that I was lapped just before the line and avoided having to do a final lap  Wink

The P&G 250s are not as fast as the P&G jags either (Though there are two variants).
Not sure how a real 275 compares to a lightweight 5 speed Jag...

I was quite enjoying that, in an odd masochistic kinda way - right up to the moment i glanced away from the track to check fuel, missed my turn-in point by a couple of inches and went off into the barriers.. Don't know if the Bob Jane car is the same, but my E Type seemed to have such a narrow margin for error - get it wrong by a fraction and I was either under-steering massively into the corners, or over-steering hugely out of them.. It was certainly a challenge.

Low turnout and again some early retirements which was a shame. Could have been some good fights with MJ, Postal etc, but I did have a good battle with Doni for awhile. Until I binned it.

Congrats podium, and thanks Geoff for trying to help me out  thumbup1

Please could "Dutch_TR8" register so he doesn't keep having to drive as an "unknown"
Thanks.

Not sure how a real 275 compares to a lightweight 5 speed Jag...

There was a 275 racing at Goodwood Revival, but not in the same race as the E-types. The driver wasn't very quick and it ran midfield amongst TR4s, Elites, MGBs etc before ending up in the gravel trap at Lavant!

In the 60s the E-Type raced against the earlier Ferraris, 250GT SWB & 250GTO, & was never as quick as the Ferraris. These days however the E-types have been extensively developed & are generally quicker than the Ferraris, most of which have disappeared into private collections & rarely appear on track.

At the Le Mans Classic this year, where the E-Types & 275GTBs are in the same race, the quickest E-type lapped in 5.04.9 compared with the fastest 275GTB time of 5.11.1.

Anyway, on to last night's race. Usual dire start from 4th on the grid meant the Team 7 formation driving team were gone up the road by the time I had found a way past Clive. They were also quicker than me in the early stages but as the race wore on the gap started to come down & I started to think I could catch them & pushed a bit harder. Oops, big mistake  Roll Eyes, I spun at T11! This let Clive back ahead & we had a good battle for the remaining laps, eventually resolving it in my favour with 2 laps to go.  Grin

Congrats to Team 7, another masterly performance.  clap clap clap

If you need the leds on the wheel working, you might want to try G27 leds
I used this one for PnG with no problem at all.

Jester I've got a fanatec club sport wheel hence running fanaleds but although it gives great ffb when running properly, for some reason it drops all ffb at race starts in p&g  Huh I had not run it for a few weeks but a new update made me think it was safe to do so. Works fine for AC but not this

@Mark - Sorry can't test this because my wheel doesn't have FFB, but have you tried pressing Alt+F? I seem to recall that this resets FFB in several sims, GTR2 included.

Ah, well sorry MJ than I can't help you out with that Sad I assume you set the Write Shared Memory="1" in the player file and no other thing came up in a search. At least it works in AC  Wink

Congratulations to Federico, Giuseppe and Otto, the Team7 Formation Driving Team were on good form.

I decided on the Jag as I was about the same speed in that as the Ferarri and the Jag's tyres were lasting longer.

Had a good battle with Geoffers, which sadly he won.   Sad

Many thanks to Evil for hanging in there.  thumbup1  I'm hoping that a few more of our SBRC members will decide that summer is over soon!   Roll Eyes
