Championship Standings

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v3.1 from:  http://www.gtlw.co.uk/
(4) Watch our for pit lane speeding, some tracks support this.
(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface most of the time (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect

There are:
4x Very fast tracks, 4x Medium , and 4x slower/tighter tracks
And pitstops are only at half the events

There are 12 Events, and 15 cars, so there will be a choice of 4 cars at the last event.
The Le Mans Finale is the "revived" version, and (force field on) it's the one with the chicanes
After the way the last one turned out I have no choice.

Rough guide to track Pace and which events have Pit Stops:

Faster: Barcelona (Stop); Paul Ricard;  Spa (Stop); Le Mans revived (Stop);

Medium: Melbourne (Albert Park);  Imola (Stop);  Interlagos;   Mexico 67;

Slower: Hungaroring (Stop);   Keimola;   Portimao (Stop);  Albi 2006;

And the best bit is still the circuit loading screen!

This is the 2006 version Burt.

They have put a couple of chicanes in and ruined it.

In GPL there was a useful little utility that let you add graphics features to the tracks.  We could really do with it here as these cars are too fast for the track and you need to be jumping on the anchors before you can clearly discern the brake markers!  An extra brake marker at twice the distance from the corner as the first one you see would be great.  Roll Eyes

It's a roller skate circuit.   Grin

Team7 and I were on the server last night and pole position looks like it could be a 1:29.   eek

I see that there is a version 2.3 of this track which has "improved detail".  Perhaps that would allow the corners to be spotted in time.  Roll Eyes

May I ask what cars are the more likely for this round? Having never raced here before and very unlikely to get much in the way of praccy time before the race, so not got time to try a few cars out  Sad pm if you don't want to make it public  Wink

Hello Mark, I think I will use the Pantera, for this track I feel good  Roll Eyes
Even the 275S is not bad but destroys the tires  Undecided
I have not tried the GT40 because, from what I understand, we want to use in Le Mans  Grin
See you on the track

I've tried v2.3 and it doesn't help.   Sad

@MJ I've seen Team7 use the Cobra 427, Pantera BOSS, and Ferrari 275.  The lap times were similar in all of them; it just depends on how easy a drive you are looking for.  The Cobra 427 is not an easy option but Otto seemed to be able to tame it.  Grin

Thanks Clive & Guiseppe, much appreciated. Kiss

Yes the cobras always a lively drive! Not sure I will get enough time to tame it so will probably take either the F275 or the Pantera  Smiley

Is it me or are the brakes on the Daytona Coupe the worst of any car ever?

I think that the coeficient of friction of France seems a bit on the low side.

Brakewise, I don't think that any of them would pass a Ministry of Transport test.

The AI seem to have brakes and if you try to race against them they shunt you up the bunty and put you in the gravel.

I haven't tried the Daytona but I think that Federico pushed it into the 1:31s the other night.
