Dean changes his car after posting several qualifying lap times and is therefore subject to DQ under the rules as they stand.
Whilst it is unfortunate if a driver's qualifying is disrupted by warp/lag or slower cars, that is the nature of this game. Warp and lag we can do very little about. The general rule for qualifying is that all drivers are entitled to complete their qualifying lap. In some cases this might mean that a much faster driver is caught behind them. But if the slower car is on a genuine qually lap ( i.e. it is not an "out lap" or an "in lap" and he has not made any major mistakes that would compromise his lap up to that point) he is entitled to complete the lap.
We would expect any driver on an out lap or who has already made a mistake and "aborted" the lap to keep well off the racing line and allow all cars to pass unhindered.

lap 1 and Dean gets a better drive off the penultimate corner to draw alongside Fran for the right hand kink onto the straight.
Dean achieves overlap but runs slightly wide at the apex towards the centre of the track and Fran does not appear to realise that Dean is there and moves to occupy the same area of tarmac on the centre line of the track.
The inevitable contact puts both cars off the circuit.
Both cars strayed onto the centre line of track when side by side.

Jethro is following Doni and is much later on the brakes into T1. this should have alerted him to Doni's braking habits. As they approach T2 Doni again brakes far earlier than Jethro.
Whilst Jethro's late braking on a clear track might have got him around the corner, it had no chance of success with Doni's car occupying centre stage.
