Some have found that they can get straight in. Others have had to change their username or password or re-register

WE WILL BE RUNNING P&G 3.1 FOR ALL EVENTS

Prac : 19:20 (60 mins)
Qual 2: 20:15 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 ~ 40 mins (26 laps)
Cars allowed: BOSS302 Mustang. Capri 2600, Escort RS1600 1.8, Alfa (ANY)
Track: Croft '07 Download and install this
Time of Day Setting: 13:00
Weather: Dry
Start: Standing

Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit-stops: None required

Server: simracing.org.uk BHC
Password: see above

Championship Standings

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v3.1 from: http://www.gtlw.co.uk/
(4) Some tracks in P&G have no 'Pit Speed Limiter' function.If so, you may go as fast as you like in the pits, but please exercise caution. Penalties will be handed out for causing contact in the pit lane. Use your best judgement when making your pitstop during the race.
(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect that.

Was doing some housekeeping on old replays today and came across our last outing here.

Just watched the epic battle between John in a Healey and Geoffers in a TR4.   Grin

Any laptimes from the Italian blizzard-drivers yet?

The Alfas seem to slow here, but I bet Giuseppe can make the Alfa SA competitive :- ))

So far my best is a 1.32.500 in the Capri on soft tyres.

I believe that last week they were carrying out tests to enable their server to run AC properly.  They are still committed to doing that but may be able to do some of our races as well.

Can't join the server - every time as the drivers get loaded it freezes on a particular name and throws me back to desktop. Like I don't have the car he is driving installed or something. Strange; can join other servers fine and I definitely have all the PnG cars present and correct in my install.

Ah well, have a good one.

Geoffers and I slogged it out all the way to the end but we were on our own by then!

Simon, in his bus, was the last to leave and was thus in third place.  So he was on the podium but with enough time to have a shower and get changed before the race finished.

Nothing wrong with the cars if you had done some practice but Geoffers' greater knowledge of things PnG paid off again.  Despite being quicker in it, I had discounted the Escort because of tyre wear but he had a setup that was fast all the way to the finish.  Whereas, towards the end, my front tyres on the Capri were costing me shed-loads of time through the complex at the end of each painful lap!

Geoffers did make a mistake with a few laps to go.  This was just to get my hopes up so that he could dash them again; as he emerged from the experience still faster than me.   

I was still hoping that he would do it again when I realised that we were on the last lap.  Sad

I'm feeling a bit miffed with myself this morning Undecided.

I had hopes of actually participating in this race and actually battling with a few other drivers for a (welcome) change. With my other simracing and real life commitments I usually don't get to practice enough with PnG, so an hour on Wed evening is usually all I get. Occasionally on a wet Sunday I might download the track and do a couple of laps in 1 or 2 cars just to get a feel of what is coming, but generally the 30mins before the race is where it all gets sorted ( or not!).

For some reason on Wednesday the Capri just clicked and I found myself doing a PB of 1:31 after only about 15 laps and some tweaking of the setup, so when I saw that the pole time last night was only 1:30 I thought there could be some fun ahead for me.

I fluffed the start and got jumped by Phspok, but still in 5th and with a cumfy gap to the car behind after lap 1 as I waited for some heat in the tyres. Lap 3 and I was beginning to close on 4th spot when Phspok ran wide and I was promoted. Then SnrDan ran wide a lap or so later and I was 3rd, with a good 10 sec lead over GT?? in 4th spot. ( I kept waiting for GT to get out of 2nd gear and sweep past, I honestly thought he was playing it cool on the tyres!! Huh ).
Then it looked like the whole field quit and it was just the 2 front runners (Geoffers and Clive), a 7 second gap to me and a distant Simon in his Mustang. I felt that I could have pushed harder to close the gap to Clive ahead, but my tyres were never going to last the race if I did, so I settled into a safe 1:32-1:33 pace to try and preserve them and 3rd spot.
With no car to race or any cars to even see, things got a little boring and I found my concentration wandering. That's when I put a rear tyre on the grass and ran wide which did not particularly bother me as I had a healthy gap back to Simon. But the relatively gentle "clunk" against the tyre barrier was too much for my engine and it broke  Undecided.

Grats to Geoffers, Clive and Simon for the podium and for making it to the flag.
