All I can say is that it is not quite so depressing to have had the pace and then made a monkey's of it as it is when I don't have the pace and can't think of a blind thing to do about it!  Embarrassed  I expect that I just got a bit blasé about it but the darn thing just gave a shrug and threw me at the wall at the fast left-hander at Lakeside!  Anoying beyond words but not depressing.  A great shame, as I think that Federico and I were likely to slog it out to the bitter end as I had done a lot of testing on knackered tyres.

Grats to Federico, John and Geoffers., and also many thanks to John for knowing that I was going to mess it up and joining the race to keep the SBRC end up!

WD to Evil also, the only other SBRC finisher.

It was a great car combo on a great track although I expect that John might have liked a few more horses.  Lets have more like it next year, without a chicane in sight!

Great fun evening of racing with a large dollop of frustration!

Cars and track were superb. Such a cool looking grid, I was almost dribbling looking out at the various iconic liveried race cars about me on the grid  thumbup1

Had a great qualifying session battling Geoffers, Legz and a few others setting quicker lap times each run and finished a fine 4th on grid.
Sat at race start relishing an epic battle with Johns Brumos Porsche ahead and Geoffers beefy escort behind.
That lasted as far as T2 when I found out I had lost all my sodding ffb in the steering again and therefore a slight tug at the wheel was the equivalent of spinning a ships wheel  Roll Eyes and I flew off track to be dead last by half a lap. I was utterly angry and despondent and nearly quit. To be robbed of a great race so early felt so unfair as it only seems to happen on the races I really like! taz
...but (in a Hamilton way!) I channelled the anger into adrenaline and set off after the pack like a man possessed  Grin
I made up the half lap deficit and then overtook every car I caught, or they fell off! And after a couple of short sharp fights with Swift and Goldtop, I found myself back where I started in 4th...hurrah!  cowboy
I actually had a dull last third of race as the top 3 were 20+ secs up the road and I had a 20+ sec gap to those behind me, so just took it easy with the lack of ffb and didn't take any chances.
Well happy to still get 4th but think I could have had a great scrap with the top 3 without the controller problem.

Bugger! Could not make it yesterday. Was looking forward to this one. Nice chance to let the new Escort 2.0 out of its garage. Did some practice earlier this week and was running low 1.40's with it. Would have been fun racing it properly on this awesome track.
Nice to see 3 different makes on the podium too. Well, at least i can check all the action in the posted replay!

Grats to the podium and apologies to all for my driving. I tried to keep out of the way of cars that were lapping me as best I could.

I arrived on the server much later than planned, selected the wrong setup and was totally perplexed when I could get nowhere near my times from the previous evening!!  blink blink
With about 5 mins left in qually I looked at the setup to discover that I was running on hard tyres?Huh

Changed the setup for softs and then set about re-learning braking points and apexes that I had adjusted running on hard rubber. Still not completely dialled in when the race started and discovered that adding a couple of extra gallons of go-juice exposed the suspension limitations over those bumps!!

The result was a car that was quick when I kept everything smooth and under control, but whenever I caught one of the bumps anything but straight it protested violently. A couple of spins and offs dropped me to last place and if it had not been for Dan waiting for me ( thanks Dan  thumbup1) I might well have quit. The rest of the race was fun as Dan and myself played between ourselves, moving over to allow the fast boys to lap us.
Dan had a moment at T1 a few laps from the nd and stuffed it into the pit wall, by that time my excursions and spins had deranged the suspension to the point where directional control was optional, even on the straight!!, and I posted my fastest laps......work that out??? I even managed to unlap myself from Superswift, although I suspect he was playing safe and did not want a loose cannon Escort scratching his nice shiny Porsche.  Roll Eyes

Great fun guys in my first year with PnG and there are glimmers of improvement from time to time.....onwards to next year  Wink

Quiet race for me. Love Oulton Park as a track but hate the bumps on this version, so went with the Escort as it is easy to drive.

Thought I would have some excitement as the qually times after the top 3 were quite close. However the race turned out somewhat uneventful, didn't have the pace of the top 3 & after Simon went out early on I cruised round in 4th place until Clive went out & handed me a podium spot.

Congrats to Fed & John, cya all at Le Mans.  thumbup2

Great race!

With a Q. position of 12th on the grid, I didn’t have high hopes for a good finish. But in the race, my Porsche was quick of the line, gaining some places and I had a nice dice with Goldtop for the first few laps for P6.

Then I made a mistake and left the track but fortunately didn’t damage the car, so could restart (now in 9th position or so).
A lap later Goldtop returned the favour and damaged his Porsche when leaving the track. Further on, I had a nice battle with Doni? I think, in his BMW. The different cars had different advantages at different places of the track  Wink

The last few laps I took it easier as I was now in 5th position and didn’t want to do anything stupid. Evil could easily match the pace, so he unlapped himself in the final few laps. You were quicker than me for sure!

Grats to podium and all finishers, see u next race!  Smiley

Sorry for the late reply, chaps...

Congrats to Federico on a fine win!  Great jobs by JW and Geoffers to score podiums!

Super recovery job by Mark after dropping to the tail of the field.

Seriously bummed to see CliveL's off and retirement.  A bitter pill that.

I had rather a fine time and a good race huge bumps and leaps notwithstanding.  Man!  I'll never come back to this venue!  My stomach is still floating.

I never did light up the tags to see whom I was battling with during the round but the server replay cap revealed all.  SuperSwift roared by on my left in a fine impersonation of Don Garlits as we pulled away from the grid.  Holy Smokes!  After several laps and profiting from the misfortune of others, I found myself well up the field but ultimately fell to Mark's charge back up the order and SS's spin recovery, too.  As mentioned above, we had a grand duel with the +/- of each coming into play.  Any chance of fighting back for P5 became moot as a glance at the fuel gauge indicated that I'd shorted myself on petrol.  Had to cruise the last couple of laps and wouldn't have made the full 25.
