As far as I am concerned if I am fortunate enough to be lapping someone in a race, then catching them in the wrong place at the wrong time, is what makes it more real. Sometimes one is lucky and it all happens on the straights and sometimes you find a car on the apex that you wanted..just the luck of the dice Bill and part of the game.

Agree wholeheartedly with this - sometimes you just happen to catch people in an unfortunate part of the track. Let's also not forget that someone being lapped, might themselves be in a hard battle with someone else, so you can't necessarily expect people to compromise their own race too much, just to let you past a little faster.

... but I had to balance the grip vs power out of the corners. It seemed that unless I made the back wheels break free slightly, the rear end wanted to dig in and try to flip the car up on 2 wheels.

Exactly what are you changing to accomplish this ?  As a complete setup dufus, I would really like to learn about this. However, I understand completely if you might not want to share your secrets with a potential competitor, so no hard feelings if you'd "rather not tell.."  Wink    You could of course also send me in a completely wrong direction, and sit back to laugh at the results on track..  Grin

Cheers,
Erling

Bill. I sat in your car in the replay for a while and it felt like the car was very loose, and rolled a lot

ftp://phspok.dyndns-web.com/Laguna.zip

is a zip of my quick default setups with a tweak for Laguna if you want to give them a try.

Thanks Matt, now have them.  Only had time to try a couple of cars. will sort out my race car in the next couple of days.  The Ford was a vast improvement on my attempt at a setup,  Roll Eyes in fact both cars I tried were nice to drive.  Grin  rockon

I like easy to drive setups for the big V8s.
Is it just me? but how can you see the track in the Ford Bill? I couldn't see any apexes, and was always running up the
inside onto the dirt mid corner.

The Falcon is the only car I can drive with any consistency, with the seat fully up it is only the Carousel (I think) where the apex is difficult as it drops away to the left and being a  right hand drive car there is no side window vision.  (I drive from inside the car with 24 inch wide screen monitor.)

All the other cars have no bottom end torque and I keep stalling the engine in the kitty litter, whereas the Falcon will drive through it in 2nd gear most times.

I think ( that means I might have, but I'm not sure!!) I have managed to upload a setup file to the online suppository repository.

If you guys can get to the online files look for the setup file " Healey 1000" posted by evilclive 2.

If it IS actually there and you guys can d/load it post back here and I can share other setups with you...maybe.

pssst How do I password protect it so Erling can't get them?Huh? shifty

Thanks for setup Clive, I now have it and have found it very nice and a much better drive than my setup.  thumbup1  My first flying lap was faster than my race PB and within a nat's of Huggys fastest race lap.  Grin

I look forward to using it in my next AH 100S outing.  rockon
