With Clive intimately familiar with it, and me never having heard of it, I should be vehemently opposed to racing at Shottenring  Wink

However, after a quick look yesterday, I think it would be a shame to miss out on such a great track - even if it takes some learning before you get to know it.

Cheers,

@ Bill Thomas. Sorry mate but I could not avoid hitting your car. I was approaching at great speed and in the milliseconds it took to reach you I was waiting to see if you were going to move, either forward of backwards, so that I could organise some kind of avoiding manoeuvre. Instead you stayed put so I slammed on the anchors and consequently lost steering.

That's OK Tony, like you by the time I'd assessed which way my car was pointing you were there and it was too late to do anything.  Roll Eyes eek

Hi, fellas.  Pardon the delay in jumping back here with a review.

Mighty lucky!  That adequately and properly describes my race.  I was off the road several times with one in particular...nailing the wall under the train viaduct...that, by rights, should have had my Maser back on the trailer.  Still amazed that I survived that one and the car not really adversely affected.  Again, luck.

Grats to Coyote on a fine P2 placing which could so easily been the win.  I note that the difference in our pit stop times was the MOV.  If I'd taken on new rubber in my stop, we would have been side-by-side at the flag!  Would have enjoyed that!  Smiley

Great job by rog to nail down the final podium slot.  He and I diced for P2 early on before I staged a bit of a breakaway.

Sorry that we lost a number of runners especially so early on.

That big Maser was certainly a handful.  I only decided to try it at the last minute having pretty much leaned towards either the DBR2 or the 375 Ferrari.  Quite liked the latter as it was like driving a Cadillac compared to the 450S.

I never did get my HUD working and had little idea what was going on in the race.  I had no speed limiter...and no readouts whatsoever...and not a clue where the pit lane speed limit would kick in.  In pre-race trials, I experimented with assorted engine speeds in first gear starting at the yellow line marking the start of the lane.  3000r's = OK.  4000 = OK.  5000 = Uh-oh!  Penalty.  So I used 4k as a limit in first gear.  Got away with it!  Smiley  After my late stop, I had no idea how many laps remained; just plugged along hoping that the tyres would last.  Actually, the tyres felt fine in the last laps and I had no dramas.

Good fun and looking forward to the remaining rounds.  Looking to something other than the big 450S.  It's too hard on my nerves.

Took me a long time to get a reasonable set up to be able to lap with the monster mazza, lucky Longford was a fairly easy track to learn and if i braked about a mile before any bend i was okay. Quite chuffed to be able to stay with Coyote and Doni for a few laps before they took off into the distance. Pitted around lap 14 as tires were shot, made two mistakes here added to much fuel and forgot to press the return button to activate pit crew. Sorry to see some drivers unfortunately drop out of race early.

Grats to Doni on win (and on one set of tires).
