I had my home server up with this track over weekend, but shut it down for tonight so as not to confuse people
If i had left it running we could have jumped on it  blink

My apologies to Postal in race 2 ... I saw a gap and went for it  ... as soon as I saw you had terminal damage I stopped, it would have been unfair to continue  Sad
Alright Bill. Apologies accepted. It was a real shame though as we where in for a battle for 2nd spot. First corner here is not an easy one to be passing someone on the brakes... Especially when you are driving the TVR.
Did myself no favour in race one when i tried to outbrake Erling in his TVR into the hairpin and was full on the brakes when my wheel decided to do a double downshift. Of course that resulted in a spin. Luckely didn't took anyone out. Hoping for a better result on the next outing..

The racing itself was pretty good though. Makes for funny races with these very different cars. And no problems with graphics or stutters this time Smiley
A big thanks to Picnic for helping out with the server.

Race 1

I made a good start but my G27 Clutch, Brake and Accelerator unit skewed on me as I braked. I had put a small mat under it and over the carpet to save wear a week ago and it had worked fine. I guess I pushed the peddle a bit harder in the race. I had to ease up while I hooked the thing straight with one foot and ended up last but no dramas. At least I finished the race OK and have addressed the mat problem.

Race 2

I was looking forward to the Elan in race 2 but made what was certainly my worst ever start. I had done a few practice starts and got the Elan to fly out of the blocks but in the race I think I instinctively twitched the wheel to the left slightly because I thought the car in front was a fraction late in starting. I failed to lift off the throttle though and this was enough to unsettle the car and I found myself sideways across the track blocking half of it and causing mayhem. Big apologies to those behind. By the time I had restarted my stalled engine and got going everyone was out of sight. I then made it worse by pushing too hard too soon and had a couple of stupid offs. Eventually I found some rhythm towards the end of the race but it was too late to push and try to improve my position.

Grats to winners and podiums.

Two fun races yesterday.
1st race. Pole and good battle with clive the first laps and after with Pelle. Pelle was faster than me but i tried to close all doors  Wink

2nd race. 2nd place at the start but made a mistake and go down to 5th place. Many battles with Coyote, Bill, Postal and finally with Pelle. Very close final, mate. Grats for your win.

Grats podium and all finishers. Too much points for our TEAM-GTLDK  Grin

Thanks Pelle for the reports!

Cheers!

Glad we managed to get these races done as at 20:00 it was looking likely that we were going to have to cancel.

First race for me was a disaster. Following a poor'ish start I was racing Kurt but glanced into him at turn 1 causing his car to flip over. I waited but then saw his message that he had hit Nirvana so carried on in last place with no chance of catching the cars ahead of me. Sorry for the hit Kurt.
Race two was better and I was faster in the Lotus. Still near the back tho but made up places due to the missfortune of others. Best part of race was trying to catch Matt in his TVR. Almost made it but ran out of laps.

Next one is at Oulton Park (Island). Should be interesting.

That was two very entertaining races!

Had done 52.9 laps in both cars offline.  Improved it a little in qual with the Elan, but disappointingly couldn't match it in the TVR.

Race 1:
Surprisingly managed to jump Pelle at the start, but then found my way blocked by a slower moving TVR, which allowed Pelle to shoot past us both on the inside..  censored  Race quickly developed into a duel with Bill. Postal mixed himself into our battle a couple of times, but took himself out again promptly both times - think I was very lucky the 2nd time, that he didn't take me with him!  Shocked

With a lot of hard work, I kept Bill behind me for over half the race, but eventually he found a way past.  Tried to hang on, but inexorably, he inched away. Thus had to settle for 5th.  Grats to Bill & the podium.

Race 2:
Confusion and moderate mayhem at the start found me in 4th place - and the front running Elan no less  Shocked  With Lobo behind me, that wasn't going to be a permanent state though - he was soon past, dropping me to 5th.  Later when he went off, I reclaimed 4th again.  Up ahead I could follow the duel between Postal and Bill, when disaster struck. Both went off, with Postal flipping into the void. Well, one man's pain is another man's gain as they say, and I was now in 2nd all of a sudden.  Fought some more with Lobo, but of course he got past again.  We then came upon Pelle, apparently rejoining after a very unorthodox 'pitstop'  Grin  Did my outmost to hang on, while he and Lobo battled for 1st - and thus didn't at all notice, or worry about Clive gaining on me not too far back..  Wink

Grats to Pelle & Lobo.  Very chuffed myself with a most unexpected 3rd.

Cheers,
Erling

Grats to the podiums and all finishers.

These cars certainly create some interesting racing. For me it is the total difference in handling and power between the grunt of that TVR and the nimble Elan.

Race 1 was shaping up to be fun for the first few laps, as I tried to find a way around Mister Lobo who had the wide bodied TVR  Roll Eyes. I discovered very quickly that I was quicker into T1 than he was and tried to maximise that small advantage in the hope that I could slingshot around him down the next straight. So after about 3 laps I launched myself into T1, only to find that his line was slightly different this time and there was a good chance that I was going to punt him into the boondocks if I tried to hold my car on track...so I opted to run wide and take the consequencies  Undecided After recovering I had lost too much ground to get back into the fight for the podium places and it felt like something was not quite as aligned as it should be in the steering department. Tried to keep things tidy to the end and collect a few points.

Race 2 was also looking good in the Elan, which felt like it was on rails compared to that TVR!!  Pole position was a bonus, but the start was a total screw up!!  1st gear off the grid, shift up to 2nd and...everyone is going past me  Shocked Shocked Shocked...but EVERYONE is going past me although my foot is on the floor??!!!. By the time I had discovered that somewhow I had upshifted to 2nd and back down to 1st and was in fact screaming the bejabers out of that poor little engine and going nowhere, it was all too late  Angry

The rest of the race was a chase through red mist, accompanied by much cussing and swearing. I took some real chances around the outside of T1 a couple of times in order to make a pass but that little Elan was stuck to the track. I was a little miffed to run out of laps before I could catch Erling and contest 3rd, but realised that I had actually had a blast fighting back up from last place at T1 lap 1... Grin Grin Grin

Good to see both races had plenty of excitement.

Sorry I wasn't there to make up the numbers. The BB in our Post Code area went down for about 40 hours starting Sunday night. Hasn't happened for about 3 years so can't really complain, but v annoying when you're wanting to race. I suspect it was due to the gas pipes being replaced 2 streets away but Virgin wouldn't be specific.

laugh No way. Am eager to be a regular in at least the LvT and AMV8 races, plus some of the longer races once I've sorted out the problem with my plr file (for pitting). I was actually quite pleased with my offline practice runs in both cars, averaging about 53.5 which I think would have ensured I at least didn't get lapped, unlike last time  Embarrassed  ,so really cross with Richard Branson or whoever who decided to pull the plug in our area. Even the TV was OOA.

Mallory Park

Pactice: None  Cool
Due server came up late (NP) I didn't know what happened, but mismatch  Sad... downloaded the track again, without success...fun problem was only between Kurt & I.
Copy a setup from Brands on Lotus (the same for race 2 with TVR)...but the gearbox was never really good at Lotus, better in race 2 with TVR. Never reached due to track problems to run a good qual time in race 1...& started at the back  Undecided

Qual: Nothing to brag about  Tongue

Race 1
Really fun to start at the back...when it goes well...& it did. Great good race & close  thumbup1 It was the battle for position 1-2-3 (Lobo, Clive & I)...unfortunately, on top of the sharp right, gave too fast accelerator & spun around...Lobo could laugh & run home to gold  thumbup2 Grats
Quote
Pelle to shoot past us both on the inside..  censored
yes Erling, but I had a little...busy  Cheesy

TEAM-GTLDK 1-2 WOW ...& grats to Clive

Race 2
Don't ask me how - maybe the others slept - but that was filled up with V-Power at the start & I was first in T1...the rest of the race was only to get the weird TVR to be on the track to the finish line.
The last part of the race, I started to relax...& ended up in the pit.  Grin Incredibly fortunate I got no pit speed, run opposite out of pit...no reaction  Cool
Lobo & Erling was now terribly close...& we run almost fnish line at the same time, great race  laugh
TEAM-GTLDK 1-2-3 WWWRRRROOOAAAAVVVVVVV...Huge Thanks to you all  clap

Bill: Too bad I see you have been in hospital, hope we will soon see you again, best wishes from me  Wink
...& Steve: How dare you at all buying some of this....'man' Shocked ...& your Avatar: Now I understand why you are not faster, your speedometer only goes to 80.

Just noticed this last comment Rog.

No, you did not block me??  you were in front and I was trying to get past. I might have been a bit eager  Roll Eyes, and it was difficult to see clearly through that red fog, but absolutely no complaints.
