I've done a 1:18.6 in the TVR.  Can't recall best Elan time, but it was slower, by 1-2 secs I believe (At work; can't check).

Quite a mixed bag, yesterdays races.

Race 1:

Qualified 3rd, but made a poor start. Ziu slipped past, dropping me to 4th. Chased him as hard as I could over the next many laps, while keeping a wary eye on Hayman right behind me.  Stalemate was broken by a chain reaction, starting with Ati hitting Hayman at the chicane. He in turn hit me, sending me into a spin.  Both gents let me past, but Ziu was long gone.

As often when things start to go wrong, they continue to do so. Following lap same place, I got a bad exit from the chicane, which was all Hayman needed to get past.  Next had a bit of a slugging match with Ati. Bit too much of a contact sport for my taste, and some shoulder rubbing saw me lose places.  Dropped from 3rd to 6th.  Last lap, I had Ati in front of me, but suddenly he pulled over and braked, which looked strange to me.  Finished in 5th, behind Hayman, but I believe he was DQ'ed from S&G so I got uprated to 4th.  A disappointing race in many ways, but grats to the podium nonetheless.

Race 2:
Qualified 4th and made another poor start. Lost some places on the run up to T1. Tony came thundering up the inside in his lone TVR. He collided with Matt in front of me, and I braked too late, bumping Matt too - sorry about that. Net result was I spun and dropped to 11th and dead last.  Set about chasing the field and making up places.  First two were for free, when Tony went off and Matt later spun at the chicane. Passed Bob while braking under the bridge, and next lap got a better exit from T2, allowing me to pass Steve down the straight.  Next one was free too, when Hayman went very wide at T1.
Up ahead was the tiny yellow speck of Phil's Elan.  Drove my wheelnuts off chasing him. Aside from anemic sound, the Elan is a wonderful car to give a good spanking  Smiley  Ever so slowly reeled in Phil and got close over the last few laps, but an opportunity never presented itself.  A few more laps to pull something out of the hat would have been most welcome..  Smiley

I have to settle for congratulating him and the rest of the podium.  1st & 2nd in this series seems decided, but 3rd is up for grabs and should make for an exiting finale  Smiley

Cheers,
Erling

Perhaps the worst nights racing I can remember. Cars felt like they had no grip even though I was using the exact same setups as I had practiced with. Error after error until early in Race 2 after going off in the exact same spot I had previously gone off at I decided to throw in the towel and give up. Sorry to the other drivers who I collided with, hope I didn't muck your races up too badly.

Need a good night at Paramount Ranch now to restore my faith.

Almost managed to have a race with me old mate Phil in race1, but with the mess at T1 was not able to get close enough
in Race2, and Phil was a bit quicker anyway, but would have been nice to be in close company from the start  Roll Eyes
Still qual 5 finish 4 is good result.

Hi

a nice event! Thxs for setting up, Tony.
close qualitimes in both races!
Race 1 looked good for me. Found myself on P3 after some laps. TVR run good, I fear in this car. In last laps Ati was coming nearer and nearer. In chicane before S/F he gave me a tap and I got a cut warning, 2 laps later same place, tap from Ati,  2nd cut warning. bad luck. bigger bad luck: in last lap I made a cut warning myself  Roll Eyes Off that P3,  Grin

race 2 in elan was serious. Was an P4 I think, but did silly missbraking. I like elan very much, I can drive it good, but all this was gone after race with TVR before.
so another missbraking followed. Ok, it was real fun to chase others in front to overtake.

thxs all for fair and fun races

greets hayman

Good fun yesterday!

1st race. The first 2 laps had a good fight with Ati, but he made a little mistake in the last chicane and lost many positions. After that I can push hard to try to get the fastest lap and I got it  Grin

2nd race. I don't know what happened with Ati, but in first lap he went to boxes.  Huh
I tried to keep the pace that Ziu but I can't. Grats Ziu!

Grats pod and all finishers!

See you!

In brief, was very pleased to be back on the track after about 7 weeks away from it and surprised myself with 6th over the line race 1 Cheesy. Race 2 was feeling equally comfortable, running about 5th until lap 7 when my game pad button failed to turn the car left, so straight into the barriers I went Roll Eyes Enough damage sustained to ensure I stayed last. It's the third time this year that it's happened to me, this time with a brand new (and tested) gamepad.

Anyway, am happy with a 6th and well done to Jose and Ziu for your 1st and 2nd places. Smiley

I'm sorry for Ati i dont know what happened to him, i saw he going to pit.
