Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (26 laps)

Cars allowed: Ferrari 250 Testarossa Download this, Jaguar D-Type (1957 only) Download this, Maserati 450S Download this, Aston Martin DBR2 (includes GTC-65 class fix) Download this, Ferrari 375 Download this

Drivers are reminded that they are restricted to three drives per make. Check your status here

Track:  Porto Download this

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: x2

Server: simracing.org.uk Mondays
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: No green start light. Advise switching on in-game countdown.

I'll be missing this one - new track for me. No motivation and time to learn this narrow street circuit.  Sad

Focussing on Wednesdays LeMans event over at RaceConnect this week Cool

That's a shame Kurt; it's quite exhilarating, once you get to know it - possibly because of the terminal danger lurking everywhere..  Cool

To anyone caught behind me on the first laps: I'm on vintage tyres, which are terrible when cold, so please expect me to brake very early and corner slowly - it would be very nice not to be taken out on L1..  Wink

Cheers,
Erling

I will have to give this evening’s race a miss as I have a virus. Had to skip golf today, I am feeling a bit like “death warmed up” and not even up to sim-driving at the moment.

I hope all enjoy their race and hope to take part next week.

After being away for some hols last week and seeing the track was Porto, I was quite relaxed about this race. I have a fair grasp of the cars ( well at least I have kidded myself that i do!) and the track is Porto, the street circuit that we have regularly used in GPL..............

Imagine my horror when i eventually downloaded the track file late last night, intending to do a handful of laps to make sure everything was working before the race tonight.  eek eek scared scared scared scared
The track was not the wide street circuit winding through cobbled streets with haybales !!! This is Monaco on steroids!! and just to screw things even further the layout is totally different.

All those deformed armco barriers that you pass tonight are a result of about 10 frantic laps last night trying (and failing miserably)to learn this track.
If I am lucky I might get to join the server earlier tonight and learn how to get past T2 without ripping the doors off!!
Survival might be the priority tonight.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Tony, haven't a feather to fly with after 4 or 5 hectic days. So not even sorted track out - more time bouncing off Armco than completing laps. Huh

Best of luck folks and have a good race. Grin

Hmmmmm ... that didn't quite go as planned   Angry  I managed P3 in quali but made a poor start to the race and was passed by Flash and Clive. The next several laps were great fun as I tried unsuccessfully to find a way around Clive but then I clipped a kerb at the exit of the final chicane and put the front of the car into the Armco. Doni and Bob went past before I could recover so I set off in pursuit of Bob. I managed to close the gap to Bob until I hit a kerb at the entrance to the final chicane and zoomed over the Armco and was trapped between it and the fence  Roll Eyes

Ah well, it was most entertaining until then  Embarrassed
