Thanks for being so understanding Matt. I did wonder if your exit at Camp might have involved some extra assistance, which is why I fessed up.  Sad

For me the TVR was almost 0.5secs a lap faster than the Elan, but required far more concentration to avoid lighting up the rear tyres and spinning. To be honest I had problems with Old Paddock bend from the very first practice lap, I think I only got that right about 3 times over both races!! Thus it was that Erling could take huge chunks out of any lead I had on every lap through there!!

I had Avon Rise and Quarry pretty much nailed on a clear track, but picking the apex when you cannot see past the car in front is a leap of faith and once or twice things got a bit near to total catastrophe there  Roll Eyes.

Once I had regained 3rd place  from Erling in Race 1 I was only ever going to advance if John or Jose screwed up, so it was a gap managing exercise to the flag.
Race 2 was much more entertaining as Erling has already reported and I thought it was awfully decent of him to wait for me at Quarry bend so that we could have fun  Wink I was quicker at some points and Erling faster through others ( especially Old Paddock!!), which balanced our lap times pretty evenly. I was fortunate enough to be in the lead when it mattered to take 3rd spot.

Race 2, I couldn’t hear the little Lotus at the start with all the noise from the TVRs, consequently lost it shifting up to second and pirouetted gracefully onto the grass Grin Watched the whole field go past before re-joining at the back. Started making up places, but then got collected by a sideways TVR (Bill?) and picked up some damage. The car was a bit wonky after that, but not too bad. Managed fifth at the flag, but would like to have had another lap to have a go at the battling pair of Clive & Erling. Good fun though.

Yes it was me, saw you catching me and tried to get out of your way but lost it and collected you in the process.  Apologies for ruining your race.

Also sorry to Roger, I could see you were faster than me and tried to stay on the racing line but you were not in fov and two into one won't go.

Other than that I set new PBs in both races but the TVR was fighting me all night and kept getting away from me.

No problem at all, the TVR is a beast to handle at the best of times!

Here are mine:

The brake pressure is probably a bit high on the Elan, I kept locking the fronts if I wasn't careful.

Sorry to miss this one. I was looking forward to Castle Combe and was halfway towards a respectable time in practice. Unfortunately I either ate something very disagreeable or hosted a nasty inconvenient bug. It resulted in me having to cancel all activities for the day.

If I can get home in time next Monday I will look forward to joining all.
