Drivers are reminded that they are restricted to three drives per make. Check your status here

Track: Reims Download this

Time of Day Setting: 17:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: x2

Server: simracing.org.uk Mondays
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Do not cross into the pit lane during racing or you will get a stop/go penalty.

Grin - this week off was not scheduled but I'm forced to take my holidays during legal year (colleagues already planning
their holidays for 2016). And I've not yet decided where to go and when.

During a praccy session last night I found pitting was a real struggle. Had to reverse back and forth several times to get the pit board to show. I'll have another go tonight to see if I can find out how best to approach the pit chief and report back. If it proves too difficult I'll ask drivers to turn auto pitting on.

Also what is the pit speed,  must be very low....Personally I think your right about going auto,  hard to find the right spot for the board to come up!!!!  Going to try the Maserati and see how far I can go before imploding.  Sure is fast though!!!!!!

LOL!! That's all I need!!! a dodgy pit stop system when I can screw that part of the race up quite comprehensively on my own  Undecided

Ran about 4 laps in the D type and then a few in the Mazza just to check that the track etc was working last night. I still cannot get my head around the lack of outright pace in that D type?? I have tried all the tricks I know to extract more raw speed, and yet that car refuses to deliver?

Might get a few minutes tonight to try the Jag again (and maybe check out the pitstop issues  Roll Eyes )

D-Type seems to have the same top speed as the Aston Martin DBR2, just take a while to get there.

PIT STOPS

The pit entry has it's own lane before the pit's on the right hand side of track. Enter this lane as soon as possible to avoid being nurfed  hammer by fast approaching cars. Begin to slow because by the time you reach the yellow cone on your left you must be doing 50Kph (30Mph). And this track loves to hand out S&G's for pit lane speeding  Evil. Remember the speed limit also applies when leaving the pits. Be on the track (past the yellow cone) before accelerating.

To get the pit chief's attention   cursing approach really slowly  wheelchair and position your car at least one cars width away from your man, (on his right). This has worked for me most often. Good luck.

Practise it!

Thanks for the info Tony.  Get the clip board every time now.  Really tough on speeding though, better to go slow than have to make a return trip that"s for sure.

Thanks

I have tried the D-Type. It feels quite safe to drive, you can floor the go peddle, but it seems a bit slow. As there are a few long, fast straights I would guess the car to take for a fast lap would-be the big, lethal Massa if you can keep it on the black stuff. If not a trip into the hay bales could be terminal.

I took the Massa 450S 5.7l in a previous race I remember. I could handle it OK for about two thirds of each session until the tyres got tired when it started to reject the tarmac and became attracted the grass areas. Maybe this track is not so hard on tyres.

The Massa would not be the sensible choice for me but….  Roll Eyes

Well that was a waste of time  Angry. The two cars in front didn't move at the start, so went around them & promptly got disqualified for going in the pit lane.  Roll Eyes

Congrats to the podium, cya again soon.
