At 1:28 pace I would have the steering wheel and the spare wheel in contact with the tarmac......does that count?  Roll Eyes

I have to confess that my normal "gung ho" driving style works reasonably well at most tracks, but there are quite a few areas around Pau where it might not be wise to hang the rear end out  Roll Eyes.
In fact I am amazed at Phspok's replay where he somehow bounces over the kerbs and it still looks smooth!! I tried a similar approach and found myself only just regaining control before the next corner, and using about 50% of the rubber on my tyres in the process?? He must have the "comfort" setting engaged on the Merc dashboard methinks  yes yes

All cars are now sub 1:30 for me, but some are easier to drive at that pace than others. So the dilemma now is, do I take a faster but more unstable car, or a slightly slower but more stable one. Then there is the consideration of those tracks that we visit later   Undecided... Do I risk a "good " car here and hope to score good points, or do I  use one of the less desirable chassis options and just pick up a few points with it if I can.  wacko

Ooooh! I feel a headache coming on.....going to take the dog for a walk instead!!

If you raise the front and rear ride height the kerb effect maybe reduced?

I have completed another practice session concentrating on the Healey. After some set up tweaks I have managed 1:32.2.

I think the fastest car is the awesome but unforgiving Aston. Then the independent minded tail happy Jag, The Merc is the easiest to drive but the Healey is entertaining and more satisfying.

I will probably miss a few races due to holidays and away days so I will be able to mostly drive the Aston and Jag.

I will drive the Healey for this race and the Merc in a later race.

I think I will be about five seconds a lap off the pace.  5 X 26 = being lapped well before the finish of the race.

Did some more on line laps with Misnoimis.
I cannot drive the Aston or Jag here, it's just masochism  hammer
I can just get a 29.5 with the Healey, and managed a lucky 27.8 with the Merc
Can't decide whether to take the Merc, or save him for something else, as the Healey
will likely be pants elsewhere.

Tried #32 and #700 Healey 100'S and got the message: car not on server Huh

Any clues?

So I begin testing using the Mercedes.

I usually don't get much time for practice for GTL ( and PnG) events, but for some reason, and I cannot work out what is different, I have found a couple of 20 minute sessions this weekend.

As I reported earlier, I was determined to make that D type respectable and probably did far too many laps finding ways in which it did NOT work.  I have done a few laps in the Healey and the Merc. Not bothering with the Aston Martin here, as I think it will be more valuable at other circuits.

For what it is worth..
I think the Healey is the easiest to drive and comfortably will do 1:28's
The Jag is hard work and needs more concentration, but when I get it all together and hooked up, it is faster  Wink Although I'm not sure that I can keep that level of focus for 26 laps!!!
I tried the Merc and only did a few laps, once again I think there will be better tracks for this car, but still got 1:28's after only about 10 laps and a few setup tweaks.

Found Bill on the practice server earlier today and his PC looked to be OK. Here's hoping it will behave for tomorrow's race.  thumbup1

Well it looks like my racing career is on hold after only one race.  My wife had a fall Friday and injured her knee badly.  Fractured a bone just below the joint, will be imoblized and no weight put on it for some time.  Haven't got the therapy schedule yet but I'm sure that it will take up a lot of time daily according to sources and then after the fracture is healed she may need a replacement unit.
Will keep my eye on the site and watch the replays if possible so put on a good show!!!!

Thanks for the fun
