Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: No start lights so Drivers are advised to turn on in-game countdown.

Best race so far this year for me - thanks to José's Paramount setup for the Healey (thank you again José  Smiley ).

Nice and clean racing with Roger, Bob and Matt throughout most of the race.
Had to make constant pressure to Bob and Roger - but was unable to pass due
to power and speed of the Benz on the straight - with Matt coming closer and closer
from behind.

Great fun - a really nice one.

Little trouble at the start as chmichel stayed on place  Huh .

Thanks for organizing to all involved.

 Cool

Results to be posted this afternoon.

Had some fun there, was doing quite well at first, had to keep taking evasive action as Erling's Merc didn't seem to
want to slow down or turn in as well as my Healey, caught me out a few times, and then at one turn when I thought
I was safely tucked in slightly to the inside I felt no contact but went flying through the air and landed upside down
off track  Shocked got going again, passed a couple of people and then got stuck behind the Kurt/Roger battle, got past
Kurt when he made an error, and then spun myself shortly after, caught them up again but not enough laps left
to do any passing. Good race, I now have my last Merc drive at the final event  Grin

Good result, but as is often the way with a good result, a fairly lonely race.

I have to own up to also trying Jose's Paramount Ranch setup for the Healey. Oddly it didn't seem to make the car turn as well as mine but was a little more stable & most importantly was 1.5s a lap faster! After I softened the rear bump 1 notch, put the braking a touch more to the rear & lowered the tyre pressures a tad, I found another 0.5s! Grin

As I said the race was fairly lonely. I was nearly keeping pace with Jose for a few laps until I got a tank-slapper exiting T1 & ended up in the barriers. Just got going before Hayman came along but was now 20s behind Jose so concentrated on not making any more mistakes & hopefully hanging on to 2nd place. Then a few laps later I noticed my pitboard said P1  Huh. How did that happen? According to XD Jose was now 4th, turns out he had gone so far off-track I hadn't seen him when I went past.

Gap to Hayman in 2nd was gradually increasing & was up to nearly 30s when Jose regained 2nd place & stayed that way until the finish.

Congrats to Jose & Hayman  clap clap & well done to all who finished.

Thanks Tony for finding another lovely old track.  thumbup1

Apologies to anyone who was inconvenienced by my stranded Merc on lap 3(?).  scared

I was never going to be quick enough to worry Geoffers and Jose who were having a great battle up front, but I was slowly building a  gap back to Hayman and Erling when I put a rear wheel onto the grass and the car snapped around and stalled.
Not sure why, but lately I just seem to lose concentration in races with inevitable results.  It is frustrating because it seems I have the pace to qualify on race fuel and in a promising position for some good race action. Then I just throw it all away. Undecided

After getting wedged between two trees for the second time I decided that you guys had enough hazards to contend with and retired.

Still look forward to racing these LM55 cars, just need to stay awake I guess??!!

With my world class setup skills I managed to turn the placid Merc into an unwieldy monster which would not turn at corners or brake quickly enough. It was truly horrid. At turns it was like trying to push an elephant around an ice rink. Lost count of the number of times I went of at turn 1. Definitely a night to forget IMO.

Great race for me, early laps was being pushed hard by Oldgeezer until he fell off, rest of race some very exciting and close racing with Kurt Thanks Kurt lucky for me the Merc had the extra speed on the straights.

Yes fun race on a good track for these cars.  As Roger said had a good time tailing him for the first 9/10 laps or so.  Between T2 and T3 screen went black a couple of seconds so missed the next corner, and went up into the trees.  Car just didn't seem the same after that or maybe it was all between my ears, because on the second to last lap I turned my best time of the race.  Chased Roger, Kurt and Matt after the scenic drive through the forest  Would gain a little and then lose a little for the remaining laps. Finished 8th, about what I expected.  Thanks all for a good time

Yes, normally I always look at my setups stability above the rest.
I'm glad that the setup is working well at this track too.

Report race:

A good start, and a good first laps but Geoffers close to me. Little by little I was getting a gap of 3-4 seconds, but on lap 8 saw in my XD that Geoffers gap was 20 seconds and then I relied a little.

I trusted me so much that I lost control of the car after T3 and off-track. It was impossible to stop the car and when I got to take control again, did not know how to get back on track. I was afraid to get too ahead and maybe the lap not count, so went back and I returned 4th.  oops A disaster because the gap with Geoffers was 20 seconds. But the action came back and it was fun trying to catch Hayman and Erling. Finally I managed to overtake both and finished second. I liked this track. Great choice Tony!  thumbup1

Sorry for my english.

Improved my pb in qual and ended up 4th on the grid.

Made a slow start, so Hayman got past. That was the start of a 28-lap chase.  He outdragged my sluggish Merc from corner to corner, so couldn't get past unless he made a big enough mistake. Sadly for me, that never happened.

After a number of laps, I had a good gap to the car behind, so a little alarmed midrace, when it started to shrink rapidly.  Surprised to find Jose catching us, as I wasn't aware of him going off track and ending up behind us.  Must have been frustrating for him being stuck behind our rolling roadblock.  Under different circumstances, I would probably have let him past, but at this point, I had been chasing Hayman for 20 laps straight, hoping to find a crack in his armor, so wasn't prepared to give that up, just to play Mr. Nice Guy. If Jose wanted to get past, he would have to work for it  Wink  Eventually he did so, and then proceeded to do what I couldn't: passing Hayman on a straight in a Merc.

Jose, would very much like to learn what gearing you used, as mine seemed wrong.  Believe I had selected the lowest I could without running out of revs in 4th, but my problems with Hayman's Healey suggests it wasn't ideal.

Grats to the podium and Hayman in particular, for not buckling under 28 laps of pressure. thumbup1

Cheers,
Erling
