Sorry Geoffers for losing you a finishing position,  :'( it was my only screwup at that corner my brakes snatched and threw me into the wall. I was trying to stay to the right to allow you through but best laid plans of mice and men!! Huh

No problem Bill, just one of those things. I had lined up to take the inside line & you suddenly seemed to swerve across in front of me, no way I could avoid you.

Sorry for also being part of the start mayhem, car just went sideways when I dropped the clutch. Guess that is why they always have a rolling start at Daytona IRL. Had good fun making my way back through the field & had a few close laps with Tony, swapping places as we both made mistakes. Not a big fan of these cars, I am never able to get them to handle to my liking, they always seem to have power understeer & I can never get them to drive out of corners smoothly. Guess I am just setting them up all wrong.

Anyhow, congrats to Ati, Jose & Matt  clap clap clap

Also congrats to the championship podium.  clap clap clap

History repeats itself it seems  Smiley

In our first race here, I too was qualified 4th, and too managed to steal the lead briefly, when the cars ahead of me had trouble getting off the sloping start grid.  In the first race, I ran wide in T1 on L1, but this time I at least waited to the start of L2 before doing so.  Dropped to 6th, but had fun swapping places with Roger, Michel, Ati, Clive & Jose in the first 3rd of the race.  The remaining 2/3 was very lonely, as I seemed to be in my own bubble in 4th.

Grats to the podium

And grats to Jose on winning the series - very convincingly and well deserved clap clap clap  Grats also on the little one on the way - hope you can still find time to race with us next season too  yes

My own luck that Marc missed this race; otherwise I doubt I could have run away with 2nd, but congrats on 3rd place to Marc  clap

This should also be my last race using my trusty DFP wheel/pedal.  It's held up much longer than I ever expected, but I have acquired a G27 from a colleague who wanted to get rid of it.  It's virtually brand new - doubt he's used it for more than a few weeks at most, but still couldn't pressure him to take any more than £20 for. Ridiculous really and a complete steal.  So if I'm blisteringly quick, or (more likely) laughably slow in the next race, you probably know why..  Wink

Cheers,
Erling

I really like this track, which means I'll probably end up finishing last  Cheesy
Where were you?

Thanks for the mention, Tony. Very frustrating but had several family issues to resolve that evening and it wasn't until about 9.30 that I realised I'd missed it all Sad . I was looking forward to hopefully adding a few more points from that last race, this being my first season with you guys.

Anyway, I'm still around and ready for Season 16 plus the remaining races next month.

And well done Jose for keeping the pressure on and your IMSA Championship title.
