So I declare my withdrawal to the end of this season.

What?  No way - look back at the start of the season we all agreed you could actually change cars between race 1 and race 2 if you wanted.  It's fine, forget about it.

I think this is about more than just an unnecessary rule being broken Mark.  Number of racers at this event - 7 and sixpence.  Why? When you continue to run similar tracks all season, you will end up with drivers who prefer these tracks.  You get good racing, but fewer cars.

Bigger problem from where I sit, is a guy who moans about driving a car 2 seconds slower, despite it being faster than any other Mod. Along with the Moderator who listens, and kills off the brave few Heavies who enjoyed the challenge.  So now you have a sinking ship.

If Crystal Palace happens, I hope to be there.

Shouldn't that say, "So I declare my withdrawal in two weeks"? Smiley

Oh no, I've started quoting myself. Oops, I was thinking the next race was the end of the season. Crystal Palace isn't listed on the championship page, but it is listed on the registration page. So, I hope you delay your withdrawal for about 6 weeks instead of 2. It's a shame that 2 or 3 weeks ago I gave up any hope of catching Axel or Mark in the championship not knowing that Crystal Palace remained.

we all agreed you could actually change cars between race 1 and race 2 if you wanted.  It's fine, forget about it.

lol I never agreed with that. I never changed cars between heats. Since it's supposed to be a fun series I've never been concerned that others did though.

I am a little concerned that the Lights have had too fast a car for the Heavies. The only reason I quit driving the Lotus 49 was because Axel and Mark had too much of an advantage with the Lotus 63 or MS84. Same with the Shadow. It's the main reason I didn't drive the 712.

If you limit the lights to wingless cars in 69X, GT40 Mark 1 and 910 in the GTs, and 917 and 712 in the Can Ams, would it bring back more Heavies or would it only reduce the number of Light drivers?

Better to change cars between heats, than bring the wrong class of car entirely  angel

I think I swapped cars a few races back and no one batted an eyelid? Huh (or noticed, heh Tongue)

As it's a fun series at the end of the day, I think it only adds fun to try both cars in either race, or to have the option to - it keeps things fresh. I had as much fun battling Dave for last place at Imola, as with the other lights for a win.. so I would agree with Greg's statement on making sure the heavies can compete, with a choice of all the faster cars. Although, that said, I enjoy driving the easier to handle Porsches! At other times, I'll just drive whatever I have a setup for. Grin

But, I do hope that constriction of car choices wouldn't limit the number of lights? Is this what opened up car choices previously? As I see it, if we can entice a few more heavies, or make them more competitive, then that only improves things further. We're running out of heavies at the moment Shocked

I would have more fun if the faster drivers were restricted to slower cars Smiley .

Are there slower cars in Sport Cars mod?

As moderator I try to find a balance, not too much restrictions for lights and keep the fastest or easiest to drive cars for the heavies.

The wingless 69X are IMO relics of the 67 season and do not represent the 69 season.

Perhaps the balance can be looked at again, seeing less Lights participating and no Heavies at all Smiley .

Good point Axel, I thought about that after I wrote what I did. That's why I jumped at the chance to drive the BRM at Enna. It was my first opportunity to drive in ukgpl, what we'd call a "conventional" car for the 69 season.
