Moderator's Report

SUMMARY

A pole-to-flag victory for Jonny O in the Coyote Brabham, completing a hattrick with Fast Lap and Pole Position, congratulations! Championship leader Phil Thornton in the Antipasti Ferrari finished a close second pushing Jonny in the final laps. Bastian Grupp secured a very good podium spot in the Ferrari, in his debutrace, in a Brabham dominated field. Well done!

The frontrunners basically had the same pace, but mistakes and offs by all meant they were pretty close in the last part of the race. Phil tried to push Jonny into a mistake but Jonny didn't falter and secured victory.

Dave Rainier finished 4th being most consistent and 100% on track. Bernie Darwin finished 5th being the last lead lap finisher, profiting from a late race mishap of Michael Turner, who blew up his Repco engine. Turner would eventually finish 7th, behind Dave Curtis. Curtis had his own engine probs when running in 3rd, but was able to salvage a 6th place.

Pierre Demarle, Walter Conn complete the finishers, and Billy Nobrakes completes the classified drivers. Other drivers had to retire early in the race, commiserations.

A very good job by all in the Red Zone after the start. No incidents were reported. All Stop & Go penalties after resets were performed according the rules.

There were quite a few offs and blown engines, but the racing itself was very clean. Keep it up.

I won't be able to race in Round 9 on 21 December (I'm on a ski holiday in France  thumbup2
Where you go Phil?Les Arcs?
The next year i suggest you the Dolomiti in Italy. In my opinion best price and ski lift and also best food.

WHAT  Shocked

Of course, all these points are better in France.   Wink
The main thing is choice almost unlimited (not only Les Arcs... but a very great number of skistations )   Cheesy

I am often skiing in Les Rousses (Jura) at the boundary with Switzerland (you can ski in both countries the same day).
I'm going to Les Deux Alpes in December, it's a very good resort for beginners.  My niece and my son's girl friend are coming with us this year.  They haven't skied before so hopefully there will be plenty of snow in the resort and they will be able to use the nursery slopes.

I've skied several times in France (Val D'Isere x2, Les Deux Alpes x2, Meribel x2, Val Thorens x1, every resort is always fantastic).  I've never skied in Italy but I would like to, perhaps I will try the Dolomiti next year!

I'll be doing a bit more serious skiing in January.  I've entered the Inferno Downhill Ski Race at Murren, Switzerland.  I did it last year and finished 332/345 in my category (see results sheet) so there is some room for improvement!  It is a big race, there were 1696 competitors in total last year.

Not to offend the French but i tried both.Les Arc,like many place in Italy (especially in Piemonte),have old facilities and have a look of "territory exploited for money"at the end of the 60 years. In Dolomiti the facilities are all new and the landscape is not disfigured by big construction. All the house are in Alpine style, could be because
 they speak German? Grin
Anyway i'm done only 2 time a week on the snow,1 time on Dolomiti and 1 time at Les Arc and from this experience my opinion.
Since i live on the border with Switzerland, for me is not a problem to join the snow in one day in place like Flims , Lenzerheide or St.Moritz(only to name the most famous).
About Les Deux Alpes i have a good remembrance.I was there during summer and the place offer a lot of sport in addition to being the best place for the summer ski (in my opinion).

Francesco,
you just need some trainings and it will be OK !
FORZA Francesco, the Black Night Team count on you !

Dave i'm with the Antipasti team(if i'm not wrong),so with Phil Grin.We are competitor!but only for the team not with the car because you are too strong for me.

P.S  The last winter i was in La Thuille ,but i prefer to ski at La Rosiere.Due to my friends i had not opportunity to heat at La Rosiere but i'm sure is better to avoid to heat at La Thuille.Low quality and high price. My opinion is always related to what you find on the snow  not in the villlage into the valley.
