Moderator's Report

No reported incident

All shift-R correctly followed by a stop and go.

One accident during first lap red zone between Bastian Grupp and Dave Curtis.

Server replay time: 0h00m50s

Dave took a better start than Bastian and had 100% overlap when Bastian take the racing line into the corner.
Bastian could have taken the outside line, he would then have lost the position cleanly into the chicane and Dave would have been ahead.

Bastian was ejected out of the track but Dave was unaffected.

As Bastian is new to UKGPL and was the only victim of his mistake, the moderation team will be quite lenient !

Season 27 Amateurs Trophy - Round 9– Laguna Seca

Round 9 for the Season 27 Amateurs Trophy in mod 1965 will be at Laguna Seca  in sunny California.
Laguna Seca was built in 1957 after the nearby Pebble Beach Road Races (another track used by UKGPL) were abandoned for being too dangerous.  The first race, held on November 9, 1957, was won by Pete Lovely driving a Ferrari 500 TR Sports Car.  Several Trans-Am races have been held at Laguna Seca but Formula 1 races were never held there.  The track has frequently been used for motorcycle races most notably the AMA Superbike Series, World Superbikes and MotoGP.

The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.  Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

The race will be run under INT rules and only one reset is allowed, followed by a stop and go in the pits.
65 Patch: The 2.02 Release of the 65mod can and should be used. You need a working installation of the 65 mod to install the 2.02 Update. All the 65 Mod files can be found here

A tough race- In offline practice I struggled to stay on track when pushing for a fast lap so was a bit cautious going into the race. I got my pb in qualifying and almost matched Dave for the front row- a decent start in the race and tried to keep up for a few laps until the car warmed up but then saw I was nearly 5 seconds behind Dave. I pushed as hard as I dare all race but he was too quick and easily pulled what seemed half a second a lap on me. I had a spin half way through the race but no damage- even without this I couldn't have caught Dave. A great drive for a well earned win. I'd like to thank the chaps I caught at the end for being very generous and letting me by on a hard circuit.  Thanks all see you next time.

I had no idea you guys had been lapped or I would have taken a breather , I wondered why you didn't jump me , although I was slower than a slow thing there isn't a lot of passing places here and thought that was the reason for you being such gentlemen racers ( which of coarse we all are )  Smiley

Well done to David who was the class of the field grats to johnny and Billy for a fine result , think maybe I need some extra NOS in the tank to keep up with you lot  Wink

Even though I struggled at this track in my practice sessions, I was very much looking forward to this race. However, My wife's family chose Tuesday to go on a road trip to the zoo. We had a fantastic day, and now I'm looking forward to racing again. With only one race left this season, I hope to have a good showing so that I can sign on with a good team next year!  laugh
