Moderator's Report

Close finish between Uli, Iestyn & Robert Fleurke. Impressive fastest lap by Isteyn in the Cooper.

Server replay time: 0h01m50s

This incident was right on the edge of the Red Zone, on the exit to the hairpin. Jethro's approach speed is slightly quicker than those ahead he taps the back of Cookie. Ronnie can't avoid the incident. No lasting harm as all the drivers race to full distance. The extra place penalty will not be applied on this occasion.

Season 27 Professionals Trophy –Mexico

The next round of the Pro series will be the original Papyrus track at Mexico City. Not a great deal to be said about the track – so here’s a bit of footage from 1967 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7CD36TroT0.

Sorry for the delay in posting - the forum was down over the weekend.

The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.  Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

Internet problems gave me a DNS at Silverstone. Although the internet was off earlier in the evening I at least got a start here at my least favourite circuit on GPL. Did 5 laps of Qually & left it at that.  Still with a few going off in the race I was up to 10th on lap 5 when I had an off  of my own at the first esses & lost a wheel. Good to be back though Grin

First few laps were real bad, lost positions to Iestyn and Clive, but after I passed Clive back was able to run a better pace than the leaders gaining lap after lap. Almost closed the gap to the leaders, but had burnt my tyres in the process doing a few low 51s, and couldn't gain or even follow when Uli and Iestyn turnt up a notch in the end. Had to settle for 3rd which is OK Smiley

Still was a bit frustrating when I couldn't fight for the win in the end. Lost the race basically in those first 5 laps. Wasn't as consistent as normally, struggled with the tires when pushing, and lost grip...the setup could have been better gearing- and tirepressure wise...all in all have to be satisfied Wink

Great job Uli handling the pressure, good win, and fantastic job in the Cooper Iestyn. Amazing what you can achieve in such an underpowered car. Also good job Clive who passed and pushed me for some laps. Well done finishers! Smiley

Sadly have to miss next 65 Pro race, shame for the championship but have an other priority then...

I generally dislike this track, so to finish here was a bonus. Apologies to Cookie whom I bumped (twice) at the hairpin. Bit hard to motivate when you're nearly 2 seconds a lap slower than the leaders and keep making mistakes.

Everyone knows that million-to-one chances happen 9 times out of 10. Why the hell do I keep crashing then?!

If you want finish first you have to finish first.

Last time I drove with a '65 car was in 2011 with the GPL-Racers in Mexico.
It is interesting when I look at the data and compare:
made again pole, 0.2 faster
consistency from 0.6 to 0.4 – essential!
racetime 4 sec faster
BUT 2011 I finished second after a great three-way battle with Alain Maurice and Julien Mondragon ...
As you can see the level is getting higher.

Yesterday I wanted to improve my pB in practice but unfortunately there was always traffic in the decisive moments...
My first laps went well but Iestyns were even better so I got constantly under much pressure and had to push hard the whole race long, no breather - needed one beer more after the race  Wink

Due to my consistency, my fantastic setup and because I made no big mistake's I took the win even Iestyn was temporarily faster - congrats to your sensational fastest lap – very impressive!!! But also you've luck when you crashed into the barrier in T1!!!
This time I had fuel for 2 laps more Roll Eyes this time I want to be sure ...

Congrats to all finishers and big hand to Iestyn and Robert
Looking forward to Dundrod
Uli
