Or there's that section on the S/F straight on the right-hand side Billy?

Might be easier and safer for tonight but Bill's call

Going racing isn't always a simple task.  Discoed in chat - struggled to join the race, using the 12 number IP, which my IGOR dislikes.   1 lap on a basic setup, before the race got under way.  Connection issues on lap 1, and then disco'ed again!

I hope such a poor show, does not qualify me as an Elf.  I was too quickly Pixalated !  Undecided

Brilliant fun, that Ferrari does not like to be wrestled like the Brabham does.

Yeah great fun!
Not my favourite track, but I succeeded to not make any mistake with my great BRM Grin
All the race defending the red car in front....  Shocked  but after the race I learned it was an elf in disguise!!!

Phantastic fair battle with Mark! THX!

Had a hard time to get a 19 in practise, and it wasn't good enough for pole. Start was slow, obviously didn't have the right gearing, held my own in t1, but suddenly was put in the wall and my car and race were compromised...

Car was a bit bent, and unpredictable, still the podium was back in sight after some laps. Then I started to make mistakes -lost focus, tires hot, balance gone- and had some offs and had to settle for 6th.

Hoped for a bit more fun, but at least the elves won, right!? Wink

Good fun on a difficult track. Once I realised Cookie's BRM was actually a Santa I stepped up the pace, but the damn thing was too quick down the straights.  Well done to Raoni in the stealth elf Brabham!

Grats to the podium Raoni, Axl and Mark and everyone who raced. Not sure whether the Santa or Elves can out on top and not sure that really mattered. Great fun and great turn out by the way although it did maybe highlight the need for the use of loose grids for the upcoming season in all series.

Sorry Ray it was my fault!
I did not expect to use my server for the race and when I got the late call in the chat it was too late to edit the track.ini...
For the upcoming season I will have an extra eye to this whenever my server is involved, but it is sometimes not easy to find out wich .ini is used by the mod.

On the other side, IMO it is not too bad to use the historic correct grid for a funrace, as it should make the drivers more careful Wink

Cookie actually saved the day. My server was ready but my internet dropped a couple of times Sunday evening which is very unusual so I was a bit worried that the server would mass disconnect.

Many thanks to Axel for the late hosting and Bill for organising.

Just spent the last few minutes totting up the points to discover that the result has already been announced at the top of the main thread.

Very close race - so everyone who competed had their part to play.

Well done to team Elf - Santas need to take on a few less mince pies next year.

Special thanks to Raoni - who sneaked in a red painted Brabham onto the grid - confused the opposition & stormed the race.

Sadly, I got a start-line disco, but in the brief period I was in the race, I managed to start slowly amongst the flickering I saw ahead (which put me off from the flagman), leading to a bump in the rear and a flip onto the lid. I then held for a shift-r that never came! Hopefully, the driver behind me could continue despite my poor getaway attempt. I was pretty slow in Q with my few laps anyway, so I'm not sure if I could have made a difference or not to the outcome. But, I'm glad to be back racing with UKGPL  Cool!

ok, so replying to an old thread... Smiley

I know we have absolutely ages to go until Christmas 2014/New Year...  but please keep us posted with any similar events coming up.
As this may involve changing travel plans!

Cheers,
Dave.

There will be some events running, but they're not finalised yet (basically when we can get around to them!). We still have the last events of the season to run, starting tonight with 65s, Sunday with F2s, next Tuesday with 66s, then the following Sunday with 67s.
