Unfortunately one of those time Dave R. happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, and a collision ensued from which I was lucky to escape.

Sorry to Jethro. Hopefully he was able to continue and it seems his car was not affected by this collision.

I thought it was better to be overtaken BEFORE the difficult final turns before the finish line, so I slowed down out of the line (if I didn't slow down I don't know how I could turn safely where I was).
Unfortunately your 2 cars were arriving side by side and from my opinion it was too riskly to overtake a backmarker in that way on a narrow track (there was not so narrow when Schumacher and Hakkinen overtook Zonta in Spa 199X).
One of you, Jethro, in this case should have wait ...of course, it's easy to say that after.

No really important, but then my car was undriveable. Until that, I had a pleasant pursuit  with Bastian car during quite all the race.

Yeah, I wasn't intending for that to happen, but I misjudged the position of your car in relation to Tommie's car, and that you'd braked earlier in order to let him through. By the time I realised I couldn't easily avoid the rear-end. Amazed the car stayed on track after it.

I fear I may lose that 2nd place through those two collisions... the rear end shunt of Cookie wasn't intentional but I misjudged how early the braking point was for lap 1. Sad

The racing with Tommie was immense, a real pleasure to try and push him into a mistake but rather different being the chaser than being chased.... good fun! Good fastest lap too, found the BRM good to push after some last minute tweaking to the front ARB and the car would actually turn in at most key places!

Everyone knows that million-to-one chances happen 9 times out of 10. Why the hell do I keep crashing then?!

Congratulations to Tommie on a fine win!  Great job, mate!  Smiley

Ditto for Jethro to be in TvO's shadow at the flag.  Great run.  But yes, I fear that you may draw the ire of the mods for that Lap01 biff down in the Loop.

And hey!  A podium for me in the finale!  Well, OK...  Blue Moose teammie, Clive the Evil, pulled over coming off The 90 on the last lap to let me move up from P4 but I'll take it!  TYVM, Clive!  I owe you one and never forget a debt.

Sad to see so many fall by the wayside as the infamous Loop claimed its due.  I was high up the leader board early on thanks to the carnage but soon, Clive was on my tail and easily passed for position.  For many a lap, I just tagged along taking benefit from his slipstream to keep up.  On a couple of occasions, I nearly fell back too far and had to up the R's to maintain contact.  I noted that Dean ultimately settled into a position directly behind me but some half-dozen seconds back.  That gap varied slightly and wore down as the race progressed but was comfortable enough.  Only in the last laps did I start to pull close to Clive looking for an opportunity to pass but it never looked good enough to make a serious bid.  Better to settle for a decent placing than risk both our fates.

Congratulations to Tristan who had a strangle-hold on the championship right from the get-go.  From the 4th race on, he was obliged to use the 3rd-echelon chassis and did a splendid job with them.  Full marks.

A tip of the hat to Dean who pulled a rabbit out of the hat to vault into P2 in the final standings.

I'm genuinely dismayed to see that Andreas was eliminated in the Lap01 fracas in The Loop.  After a season-long performance of good, steady driving, he was primed to place P2 or at worst, P3 in the final standings.  He and I vied for position in the standings...and in some races, too...with precious little to judge between us.  Pretty damned cruel to have the season close on that note.  No justice, amigo.

Blue Moose handily took the Team Award with good scoring from Clive, Iestyn and myself.  Drinks all 'round!  Smiley

.....well very good race as long as I can take the slipstream of the leaders, then a little mistake make me loose the contact and the slipstream too, so I try to retake the contact...... laugh......but push a little too hard and be punish in the loop by loosing a wheel  :'(......   ......desapointed for the fun! ... but happy for the champ  Grin

....i have to thanks everybody for this good season whith the title66 in the end after many second final places it's my first title in UKGPL and for shure I will defend it next season ...................Cool

cu all and have a marry christmas and happy new year 2015 ............

Yeah, all in all we had a good season, haven´t we? But ok, sometimes you loose and sometimes the other win!  Smiley
But there´s always another season and I will be there to try out something again.  Wink
