Francesco,
if you use the Lite 3D pack it removes the extra sound too Wink
Or download this files and put them into the spa67 folder.

I had framedrops down to 40fps too in this aera but without sound only 57fps Grin

Don't forget to lower the details, with full 100% I had stutters with 95% is smooth Wink

In the readme it states that you should run detail at 99% max due to graphical glitches that occur when at 100%.
I'll try and make this, Will really give the new PC a work out (I have to use OpenGL with the 69X's for it to actually load!)

This version really makes you appreciate Hill's comments about the drivers being glad to leave Spa!
The roads really remind me of the time I drove the old circuit a few years ago - narrow, hilly and bloody scary to contemplate at 160+!  Grin

Just tried this new track and a single 65 car.

The track is just awesome!! what an update!!

But I am concerned that I might have probs with this track AND the 60fps.  I was doing solo training mode and with the car parked in the pits I got 24fps. Once I got through Eau Rouge it climbed to around 46fps and topped out at 50-54fps elsewhere. This was with no other cars on track, so I am expecting a huge frame rate hit in a racing situation with maybe 12 cars running.

Is there someone who can post a list of the optimum graphic card options to select for GPL? I notice that in GEM there are various options, but frankly I have no idea what they are or what they do.
I have a 1gb graphic card installed so it hsould be able to handle a reasonable load. The main processor is 2.3ghz, which is a little outdated but has always coped until now. lol

I am going to install the lite 3D pack that Cookie suggests anyway as it looks like I cannot run the full version, but I think it would be good to post here the best settings for graphic card options etc anyway.

I know you have a Radeon HD5670, imo this should not be the bottleneck,
for this track the power of the CPU counts, and it uses only 1.5 cores of my 6  Roll Eyes

In GEM graphics I have

My ATI Catalyst is 13.12 (has best OGL driver included)

The biggest problem is that the GPU does not recognize GPL as a 3D graphic and idles...
So I made a hotkey to set my GPU in higher mode. Look here  Wink

Will we be using the "fog" version for a 65 race? Not sure if that is set by the server or drivers PCs? Assume the grip level is identical?

Set it to 0 and the sun shines...

WOW I am shocked!

Just installed Spa67 on my Win XP - HTPC,
with an AthlonII X4 640 @ 3000MHz, 4GB DDR3 RAM and the ATI Radeon HD5670 with 1GB DDR3.
I used the lowres + lite version and it ran rockstable 60fps (with a very short min of 53fps at the pits) from the start line all around!
TBH the highres version is superb, but after a sightseing lap I wanna race! This is no handicap to use this lowest version.

A test today on the UK server as the runnup to the event tomorrow.  I joined Axel and several others on the server testing Spa67 with the...new for me...60fps files installed.  Worked a treat.  A slight sag into the mid-high 40 frames in the pit area.  No biggie.

TY for the guidance, Cookie!  Smiley

Just had a short test with Axel on UKGPL8.  Only 2 cars but the 60fps was rock solid (should be for me i7 3.4GHz, 8GB Ram, GEFORCE GTX 760 (2GB DDR5), only down side is 64bit Vista).  Still get a slight tearing effect occasionally as if vsync is slightly off but don't know enough about the graphics options to sort it out.

Track is awesome.  Sufficiently different to the Papy version to be a completely different challenge.  Tried to test crash boxes by getting close to Axel but he was too fast LOL.

Hope we get a good turnout tonight.

If you're using a 60Hz TV/monitor, make sure Triple Buffering is set in NVidia's software. I'm not sure if that will cure that problem but with Vsync it is necessary for me to use Triple Buffering too.

Clive, the more Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering you use the lower your frame rates will be. I use none of either to run 60fps.

I doubt I'll make this race. I have my doubts I can run this track at 60fps too. I'll test it in a few minutes.

I think that the tearing effect describes what I am experiencing. MY GPU is the Nvidia 560Ti. I did a quick test, and turning on Vsync and Triple Buffering for GPL has fixed the tearing. A huge Thank You for helping me with that.

However, I have a new problem with the menu flashing when I am using OGLv2. Is there a fix for the menu flashing?  D3Dv2 does not run as smooth for me as OGLv2.

LOL that's exactly what happens with the Tripplebuffering enabled in the ATI GPU 3D Settings for me.

I solved this by shut it off in ATI Catalyst and activate it in GEM Wink
