Great report there Evil.  It was just two toes of my right foot that went into cramp and it was no fun at all!  I was ok if I could press hard on the pedal but when you had to faff about with the brake and throttle on the way into corners it was agony. 

I'll send some screen shots of what XD is telling you.  The display switches back and forth between "fuel per lap" to "laps of fuel left", so what you see will depend on when you look.

I think that the two figure displayed are average and worst case.  I always take the worst case fuel per lap and multiply by number of laps.  Then I add a couple of litres for good measure.  I think that my sums said 68 litres for last night.

I think that on races with a lot of slipstreaming you can end up using more fuel.

Fuel consumption: for last lap 2.75 (average 2.78)

In mine it shows with the average symbol: 2.75(2.78ø) The average needs at least 5 laps to show a correct fuel/lap indication.
It does depend on which version of XD you use of course.

That explains why I keep misjudging the fuel consumption!!  I thought that the first figure was the consumption for the last lap and the figure in brackets was the consumption that I should be aiming for........ no wonder I was running out of fuel.

So, from what you indicate, there is no display that tells me if I have enough fuel to get to the end of the race??

It looks like I will have to do some lengthy runs in practice and work out my fuel requirements, just to be sure. Or rely on you guys for an accurate fuel load ??  lol

Clive you can set XD to show either average fuel used per lap or expected no of laps per fuel in tank or both (displayed at alternate time intervals). Find your XD.ini file (in your GTL/P&G main folder(s)) and browse/edit using Windows Notepad or similar.

Or you can always ask online just before race countdown
