Congrats to Ra, Deaner and Andreas for the podium runs.  Talk about a close finish!  And Greg right in the mix, too.  Well done, gys.

For the most part, my races at Enna usually end with the car in a steaming pile so I was relieved that I managed to bring it home in one piece.

I had a fine old dust-up with Rocket for most of the entire distance.  Our 2-valve Climax engines couldn't quite cut it to keep up with the primo rides but we had our own monster battle.  Ray had the edge by and large as it seemed that I was slightly tall on the gear ratios.  Anytime that I lead, RR could re-pass easily.  The other way around and it was all I could do to just tag along.  Pity that we lost Clive in a collision with Arf or we may have had a fine three-way.  That collision put paid to Clive's ride and Arf fell way back out of contention.

As Ray lead most times past the S/F line, I was able to keep track of Arf via my pitboard.  At one point, I believe that Arf was upwards of 12-13 seconds adrift.  Gradually, that gap came down and some quick arithmetic indicated that he might well catch up Ray and I by the finish.  Indeed, with a handful of laps to go, I noted a small, black dot in my mirrors that got progressively larger.  Soon, the BRM was upon us and broke away.

Ray certainly had the goods on me but a small error swinging wide in the 2nd last corner gave me the chance to spirit up on his right and lead to the line by a mere car's length.  Great finish!  Excellent drive, Ray!
