Lower Sprint - Race 2

All members welcome

Practice:  20:00 GMT (20 mins)
Qual 2:    20:20 GMT (10 mins)
Race:      20:30 GMT (17 Laps - approx 40 mins)

Cars allowed: Any GT3 from the UKGTR car pack v2.16.0.0
Track: Bathurst 2006 Download and install this
Race Start Time: 14:00

Weather: Dry

Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit-stops: No pitstops required
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) Please make sure you are fully aware of the UKGTR Rules - especially the speed limiter starting procedure and the rules about in-game chat messages.
(2) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page
(3) You will not be able to join the server without the car physics pack and track (see links above).
(4) Drivers may only change car once in the season without penalty.
(5) Drivers are reminded that they must select ISDN as their bandwidth, otherwise the stability of everyone's connection will be reduced.
(6) Please use the Driver Details page to ensure that the league management software has your correct GTR2 'Driving Name' (not necessarily the same as your lobby name).
(7) The server will be set to 26 slots, not 28.

My best lap times are in the 2.15s so far. There might be a couple of seconds still to gain as I'm not familiar with the track.

I can't remember the last time I got pole Shocked
I think I only managed to complete one lap, I kept bashing into corners either through understeer or oversteer as my setup was very edgy to try to make the Viper turn!
Was lucky to remove most of the unpredictability out of the setup, just as the session turned to race.

Had an obvious advantage on the straights, only to admise Apex catching me again through the twisters at the top of the hill. Lucky for me, nearly two of the three sections on this track favour power, so each lap I managed to eek out a bit more lead to build up a safety buffer. A buffer that I needed all of, as with 1.5 laps to go I mullered my car in the tristers & lost all but 1sec of my advantage Shocked

Scampered off to the next straight & put the pedal to the metal & thankfully made it to the end in 1st place sweatdrop

Well from a track review perspective, that's one track to the cars with power & one track to the cars that can corner so far! I've done Cadwell in old GTL days & it normally led to classic 'POWER vs HANDLING' battles Cool

Have never got on with bathurst in iR which translated to this, where the car was too twitchy, i always cockup the last section on the mountain and end up jst bouncing between the barriers. I would only have lasted a few laps anyway. the porsche was not suited to this track.
