So, Tibs has lined up another 3 cup races for us to go alongside the GT3 schedule on Wednesdays. What is the idea with the GT3’s? Looks like everybody still likes to drive em a little more, but are they going to the Sundays along with GT2’s in future?

I noticed the Caterham Acadamy car has been mentioned as did a Ferrari cup. This could be part of our future race series? Well, I have listed some combo’s which I personally would like to drive.
Yes, I know not everybody likes the same cars and tracks, but at least it has some variety to appeal to the majority and possible new drivers. And yes, I do mention some ported tracks, which might not be on par with the high AC standard, but I believe we could test some of them and use them in some of the series. Just get rid of them when the series are over and new, better content is available to be used? Or replace some suggestions with other good working tracks.
It would be nice to get a proper schedule together which can be posted and advertised. I am sure it is more appealing for new drivers to see there are proper series running over here they can choose from? So, let’s put something together!
How about:

all looks good to me. Even willing to give the Abarth single seaters a go if they aren't too fiddly to setup and race with  Smiley

Just had this from Giuseppe Reali:-

Pop

I'm sure that they would love to see you and as we have found lately with PnG, it's better when all the leagues get together instead of all fighting for the same pool of drivers.   Roll Eyes

Can we have some feedback or alternative proposals from other drivers on some of the series potentials that Postal took the time to write up? If we don't know what people want to race then we don't know what to organise or offer.  Undecided

Sure.

Ac is great, no doubt about it, and whether you consider it half finished or not there is still plenty of good racing to be had with it. But from a personal point of view my interest is most things historic - saloons (preferably) or single seaters. I did do some GT3 races here early on, but I'm thoroughly bored by those cars now - I don't want modern GT cars with slicks, downforce, and semi-auto gearboxes. I want cars that slide about and have manual H-pattern shifting. With that in mind I would say right now I'm getting more out of RRE (despite the low numbers) and pCARS (despite the bugs and idiosyncratic design).

Having said that however, any AC races here involving say the Cobra, Alfa GTA, Miura etc, and I'd probably attend. Nothing wrong with the modern cars in the game, and I know they are popular with most, they are just not to my taste. My 2c.

Thank you for your input Frex. Appreciated.

I presume modern GT cars still will have their place on the Sundays anyway here at SROUK and as there are more people, like you and me, who like their racing cars old school i think we have that covered to some extend. If i read correctly you might like the F1 Legends and the DTM legends then? Looking at the more historic R3E content we are fishing in the same pond maybe, but i am sure the AC take on this should be at least as good for some proper racing series.

Having said that, we could extend the Iconics class with the cars you mentioned as well as the newly released Audi Quattro and the to be released Countach and Ford GT40?

Yes, any of those cars you mention sound good to me. Only the DTMs appeal slightly less as they are mostly available in the other sims and already being raced regularly elsewhere; although again I would probably attend to race them here too.

However I would hate to alienate all those that prefer the modern machinery - there are probably far more of those than us retro fans..

Modern GT cars or GP2 style single seaters for me.

Not interested at all in classic cars...slow, bad handling, boring to drive and only called classic by people that don't want to call them what they are..."old".  Tongue Tongue

My personal preference for AC races are the GT3 & GT2s and maybe a bit of the old DTM's. I am not really interested in the road cars or the really old race cars.

Right, so would you consider the Lotus Evora GX to be a modern GT? And how about the Merc C9? Old, yes... (and i am sure you won't find the F312T that bad either! Grin)
Then we could also swap the Formula Abarth's for the Formula Renault 3.5? (little more appealing race car, but are being run by other leagues too i guess)

I don't see why we should not still have our own GT2/3 races around here. I personally would like it to be alternating between big GT's/Formula cars and the cars mentioned above on Sunday's and Wednesday's.  But that's just me.
Btw, the new schedule at NoGrip is up too. GT3's on sunday's...we might have to keep an eye on that when planning our own races. Wink

I think we can give Gt3 a short rest until they release some new cars to add to the stable. It was run as deemed most popular but guess because several leagues all did the same then people got bored of it. Undecided

I would run some new series. Can't keep everyone happy but if you run alternating series each week then hopefully we can grab different tastebuds each week. Not easy to guess as hardly anyone has bothered to state their preference  Roll Eyes

Maybe run two regular series that people can develop a bond/setup with and a third random car challenge series that might be F40s/whatever's one week then shelby Cobras/whatever's the next
