1966 60fpsV1 Fun Race - Suzuka 1978

This is another FUN test event for Season 28, using the 66 mod with 60fpsV1.

The GPL track was released in 2003 by Polar Blue as a beta but never finalized, so it's a shame it can't be run in championships and rank.
Designed as a Honda test track in 1962 by Dutchman John "Hans" Hugenholtz, Suzuka is one of few circuits in the world to have a "figure 8" layout, with the 1.2 km back straight passing over the front section by means of an overpass.

We will use the 60fpsV1 for the 66s after the chaos we had last time...

The race will be run under INT rules. A maximum of two resets are allowed, followed by a compulsory stop and go in the pits.

Race List =   IGOR
Server = UKGPL_8
IP Address = look at IGOR
Race date = 17-02-2015
Qualification Time   = ~20:45  UK time -> 45min
Race Time = race starts at 21:30 UK time
Track = szk78
Variant = 66 mod
Damage Model = INT
Race length = ~45 min -> 18 laps
Replay = you will get here

Please restrict chat to emergency messages only, including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

Have FUN!

Unfortunately I can't make this one, but for future reference I thought the 66 Mod use the Version 2 of the 60fps patch? V1 is for 69X & Sports cars?

Billy we testet the 66s with V2newmod at Spa67 but unfortunatly some drivers have problems with this version...

So, until we have solved what in the install of the 66 mod causes the incompatibility,
we will use the 60fpsV1 patch with 66s!

PS
I uploaded my C:\GPL\cars\cars66 folder
and the C:\GPL\Mods\GEM+\gpl66 that works with 60fpsV2newmod.

Can anyone (David, Doni ...) of the drivers who had those problems test, if it works with my folders?

Just rename or save your cars66 + gpl66 folder and replace it with mine, delete the gplc66.exe and let GEM rebuild it.

If you have no problem with V2newmod, that's fine don't change! But for this race we use 60fpsV1 !

Do you have the 60fps XML files in GPLsecrets\GEM\options folder? That is the right place!
Not good in ..\GPL\Mods\GEM+\gpl66\options as it gets lost as you have it!

Your low fps problem comes from the poor 64bit memory bandwith of your GPU and 2GB RAM not running in Dual mode...

I did a fresh Windows 7 install on a new little SSD Sunday. I think that I have the GPL 66 mod ready for this race.  Grin

Yea i have the file in GEM.Is too long to explain,i think,but from some time i must restart my PC with the F2.When started i found the PC setted with the date of 2002.Could be this that disable the file for the fps?
In other words ,if i start GPL with the 60fps and i found a 15fps into the game,i must copy and overwrite the 60fps file into GEM to solve the problem and have my 60fps.Strange or not?

your PC battery is old and empty! Just buy a new one and the date will not be lost for the next 3-5 years Wink
It is silver and has the size of a 20€cent piece and costs ~2€ ( CR2032 3Volt )

 Cheesy as much I like to race Suzuka. But I dont have the time to fiddle out any useful setup , especially not in 66mod as I dont have any setups at all I can lay back on... so I wont take part.

I really enjoyed the track. This was my first time to drive Suzuka without the chicane. The first half of the lap takes so much mental alertness to maximize my laptime that I welcomed the back half of the track each lap. It must have been amazing in real life. I qualified some ten seconds slower than the car in front of me. So I was set to just give my new GPL install a test, and enjoy the beautiful 1966 BRM 2 litre. The race was different story as I improved my pace enough to be competitive. I enjoyed trying to keep up with Martin, Fran and Bastian, and I was only able to get past after they had bad luck. I could see that Bastian was closing the gap to me, but the race was over before he could catch me. I have to give credit to Cookie for the awesome set-up for the BRM 2 litre.
