S28 - Friday Trophy - Round 4 - Sport Cars - Albi 67

The next round of the S28 Friday Mixed Trophy we find ourselves at Albi in France.
The 1967 layout of the track has a good mixture of some fast straights and all sorts of corners.

Remember: for the LIGHT drivers the most popular car will be dropped for the rest of the season!

ONE reset is allowed but the Shift R must be followed by a Stop & Go in the pit lane within TWO laps.
If you Reset on the last lap a 30 second time penalty will be awarded if you cannot s+g before the finish line in the pit lane.

Drivers must complete 50% of the race distance to score.
Please check the Season 28 pages for details regarding rules and the Friday Trophy pages in particular.

I signed up for this series today as a reserve but have a problem with the GT mirrors. They seem to be showing part of the cars bodywork. I've tried the virtual mirrors and they are the same. Has anyone seen this before?

The race details above are for Hockenheim not Albi.

Would be really nice if I am able to make this race. Fingers crossed!  Smiley

I just checked the virtual mirrors on the chap 2F, and they are good

I am having difficulty posting a link to download the GT mirrors from the UKGPL3 server.
I was able to navigate to the server by clicking on the link to download the track.
Then click "up to higher directory."
Click "mods"
Click "GT"
Click "virtual mirror GT mod"

Axel ,i don't think that was a problem of RAM.How is possible that for max. 2 laps all was OK and than the fps drop under 10?The start of the race was good only till the end of the streight.

If the RAM is full it uses the harddisk and becomes slow

That sounds right to me... a few times at Spa67 after a long session I think it's happened to me as well.  Roll Eyes

The GT cars go great here, also with a Cookie setup from Imola (cambers/psi reversed, with an aggressive diff)  Smiley

Smiley Smiley what a great fun.  so lucky that at long last I had the time to race and do not fall asleep before.

Wink btw. if some feel unconfortable on my status as a heavy, plz let me know and I will change. Its not my intention to spoil anyones fun...its just that preseason races shows me as extreme rusty.. Cheesy

This was one suspect , i have tried an update on another game before the race, having seen that was not working i have canceled with Ctrl-alt-canc the download. What is strange is the need to use this command to exit the download, anyway after this command  all was deleted.
Another strange things is the fact that ,when i enter the race, the first lap is ok with 50-60fps than,in the middle of the second, drop to less than 10.I went out of the race more than one time but any time was the same also reducing the details. What is not understandable is why other races were OK if is a problem of RAM?I have raced also SPA67 with some problem at La Source but for the rest i have raced with my honorable 50 fps.
Anyway thank you for the help.

Personally, I always like to see a fellow heavy driver having success. I think the reason for the light/heavy division is to help the heavy drivers compete with the lights.

I really enjoy this track. I had my first win here in the Amateur Trophy. The Chap2F drove great. I modified Axel's Targa set-up. I probably just need to do a little more practice next time.

Cheers,
Walter

Congrats Iestyn, Dean! Good race guys.

I didn't stand a chance against Iestyn. I rarely do. I got a little impatient with Axel holding me back through a couple of turns and Iestyn not far behind me. Axel stayed to the right on the fastest straight which enticed me to attempt a pass. It didn't go well but I was relieved that it wasn't disastrous either. As always, I'm curious how much Iestyn's slipstream may have improved my times. Some of these mods provide me incredible gains in the slipstream.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the racing.

Yes the Sport Cars have a big slipstream, at LeMans you can feel it up to 750 m Wink

My setups are mostly conservative, so my tires need 2-3 laps to get in best condition. But then they stay very stable.
I had expected you to pass me earlier but maybe your 5th was a bit shorter...

Fighting with Iestyn when my engine exploded, this let me fall back to a save 4th place.

That caught me out too!   And no 67 this weekend either!

Hopefully there could be some Easter bunny dash or something at some point over this extended weekend? Wink
