Nice first race here.

Was cautious on lap one trying to keep my line in the first chicanes but in parabolic i got hit really hard and went into the gravel, don't really know what happened there.. from the back of the pack it was just trying to to the best of it, lacking 7-10 km/h in speed on the long straight the times was suffering and i got caught up by a blue shark merc, we was fighting for some laps, nice and clean, but he overtook me into t1, and i was following him trying to push as hard as i could, he made a mistake and i could pass him later on.
I hit a Nissan i thought it was in the early laps, a merc stood in the middle of the ascari chicane ? last one anyway, and the Nissan was driving out in the track, nowhere to be for me..
Fun race anyway, really liked the Nissan, haven't driven it before..

See you next time, hopefully with more drivers  thumbup2 thumbup2

Smiley Smiley Smiley Got to say this combo really lived up to expectation.  Good clean racing all the way through, some of it very close indeed. Thanks to all who took part, I hope the new faces had fun, well done podium, thanks for server and race, Bob.

I enjoyed that one. A nice first race here, a good sign of things to come.

I had a scruffy first lap with 3 separate incidents, and spent the rest of the race trying to move back up the order. Even though I finished higher than I qualified, I reckon I could have done better if I concentrated a bit better and avoided quite a few silly mistakes. I'm happy with my pace, now I want to work on consistency. Thanks for the fun & clean racing everyone!

From my POV (and in the replay) your car was jumping around at that point, like dodgy netcode. Me and Frex almost came together in avoidance.

Got a start like **it and lost several positions right before T1. As i had again raised my rearwing i was pretty fast&stable in the corners but lost all of it again on the straights. Note to myself: Q-setup doesn't fit to race  Undecided

Had a hard fight with Bob for several laps which was maybe sometimes close to the limit but still fun.
Hope it was ok. After passing him i could close the gap to Battenberg and frex which ended up in a tight finish of some hundreds.

Cool race despite my wrong setup.

Strange, i had good ping but i have had these issues before.. i may have to reinstall all of Steam, maybe a SSD disk will solve it..

Got hit twice  Sad damaged car didn't go very fast, went to pit, started getting blue flags as the grid caught on me and was looking more to the back than to the front. Was running from impeding Shark in first chicane as all froze for like a second. Went to sand asap as not to be the cause of incident. Had no motivation to go on from there. For me, the cars are still too soft, with dodgy netcode there will be contacts. How can the net code be worse than in GTR2? The game is 10 years older...  Lips Sealed

The track seemed very dark, at times I didn't see the track or where my braking point is. Is this got to do with the time of the race? Went to try a few laps in quick race after and it was ok. Is there like a gamma settings for getting more light on track? Coulnd't find it in settings.

Probably the time of day tom, i had the exact same problem so i used different things as my brake markers, be it a marshall, end of. Bridge, end or some armco etc..

I had a decent yet uneventful race, i was hoping that after qualify sven was going to give me a nice battle but he messed up the start and then was gone.

Roll on the next gt3 race Smiley

There are still bugs in the graphics engine regarding lighting as it seems now that everytime I start the game it's really bright on track with it being almost white. Have to use PageDown key to stop the bright light effect. I'm not a fan of these low sun race times as everyone seems to pick them and I never get to race in the normal, middle of the day conditions anymore so you either have really reflective track, or sun in your eyes or long shadows, all of which I find annoying. Smiley

In terms of pure collision detection and positioning I find the net code very good. The rest of the multiplayer leaves a lot to be desired but the core net code seems good so maybe some problem with the network between you and the server TT?

Like Shark I've tended to find the netcode fine. I did have Anders warp a couple of times last night while I was following him but everyone else seemed solid for me.

Sadly I threw the car off 3 times at the same corner, stupid boy  Roll Eyes Still I had fun the rest of the time.

And it was nice to see some new faces to these parts race last night  Cool

No problem with dark track or soft cars here TT, sounds like your own settings being wrong. Nor dodgy netcode! To suggest it's as bad as Gtr2 is totally innacurate. I've enjoyed full grid races online plenty of times without problem.
I thought Monza looked superb last night with the lighting and gfx  Cool

What a cracking race that turned out and I only finished 8th despite driving my butt off!
I didn't want to take the McLaren as knew it was slow here compared to the z4, yet alone the Mercs and Nismos which destroy it on the straights here despite me running 0-1 wing !  Shocked. But I hadn't done a single lap of praccy before last nights event so plumped for my previously used mp-4 setup and hoped for the best.

Quality soon proved it was the wrong choice again  Roll Eyes

Got stuck behind a slow off the line Nismo at race start and so lost two places down to the chicane. But everyone around me seemed well behaved and we all got through the chicanes without any dramas that I saw. Had a few early battles but was just left standing every time we got on a straight. Several cars ahead threw themselves into the Armco which was handy for me!  Grin
Late on I caught Bob in his GTR battling another. I closed and chased him hard for many laps watching him disappear on the straights but catching in the chicanes. Eventually he cracked under pressure and I was able to nip past after what had been some great adrenalin laps  Cool
Romped home to a bewildered lowly 8th despite many laps in the 51's and 52's Smiley
Cracking race

Surprised there were still only 15 runners, we seemed to be missing a few still.

Yes! At last a trouble-free AC race for me - my previous loss of controller issues had returned, but this time I hope I've properly cracked it. And what fun AC multiplayer can be..! Lots of good racing, though very skittery for me in the final few laps, specially around Ascari. Sven was so much quicker then, but must have had damage or was running a lot more wing than me as I easily pulled away down the straights. Good fun.

Congrats podium, and welcome to the new chaps.

Yes, sorry about that Battenberg - I see from the replay that I pretty much ran you onto the grass at Parabolica, but didn't realise this at the time as my attention was fully on the warping/spinning car just ahead of me. Apologies.

You guys are really picky. Wink When I say netcode I mean it in general, as not daring to close race like I did in GTR2. I find cars sometimes jumping around in AC and sometimes (as yesterday) the game just freezes for a few moments which in the case of close racing is a no-no. Found relevant posts to PgUp / PgDn Shark, seems like it helps people, will try it.

MJ, I never found our GTR2 races so jumpy (again, it's getting better, but in the begininning it was  Lips Sealed ) and my connection seems fine in games like WoT where ping and stable conn really counts.

All in all, first I have to find some more pace.  Tongue

As Shark says, you never get to race at 2 pm no more.  Kiss
