Is Daytona (Road) the 24hr track or the SHORT track? I may have found the answer: Last time, in the reign of Mike Miller, it was the 24hr track https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=7839.0

Could do with some hep here. I think Clive is correct, this is not meant to be the "short" variant it is the RC - Road Course. When I start the server it has two Daytonas but the words go beyond the field, and I can't see what it says I can't see from the maps what the differences are. If I start one up can someone check that it looks right? I am stuck down in London this week so can't run P&G myself.

Matt, I set the server last night and had the same trouble, unable to see the end of the track description. Decided to choose both. Drivers can move the track on if the choice running is not the correct layout.

Yep. I just tried starting with both one at a time, and it does actually say in the server window once it has started which one it is. I have started the "24Hr" option .

All the roller skate brigade stayed away from this one. We had just four cars. Click HERE for Analyser Report.

I was almost an absentee too, but at the last minute decided that I knew the track from GPL and had nothing better to do for an hour or so. The only surprise was that ruddy chicane !! Yes, I know it is shown on the map of the track!! but it just did not register and my first few practice laps were "eventful". In hindsight I should have gone with the "car of choice" which everyone ( all 3 of them) had selected which was the Corvette. But I used a comfortable setup that I had for the CASC and I soon discovered that it had a good 10-15mph top speed over my Shelby, and although I could just about match them for pace around the infield and in acceleration up to 140mph, my car just ran out of legs and they eased away on every fast section. My previous trials with that Corvette always returned shredded tyres in about 5 laps and I was hoping that I might benefit in the last few laps, because my CASC was very gentle on the rubber and I was sure I would have plenty left at the end of the race. It did not work out that way and the only highlight was passing a spun and stranded Mr Loynes twice and pushing like hell for the next 10 laps to try and delay the inevitable pass on the banking when he caught me. I was running the softer tyre and still had 50% plus left at the flag, I would be interested to know how those Corvettes fared and what setups you had that preserved enough tyre rubber to get you home?? Grats to Geoffers, and to a comprehensive sweep of the minor places by the Soggies...Ok so there was only soggies left!!

Not too bad actually. Understeer got gradually worse as the race went on & laptimes were a couple of seconds slower at the end, but as long as you didn't push it too hard (which wasn't necessary after Mr Loynes binned it) it was quite driveable. Well done to the other 3 drivers, all managed to make the finish.

No need to rub it in! ;-p So another race that I made a complete Horlicks of! At the start it seemed to me that Geoffers was a tad down on pace so I immediately thought "Oh dear! He has harder tyres and will give me grief at the end" So I pushed too hard, thinking that I had to build a gap, and binned it on lap two instead! After the first spin I still entertained ideas of catching Geoffers, hence the second spin. All this provided entertainment for Evil but little else. My tyres were shot by the end but the balance was probably better than in the opening laps. What can I make a mess of next week?

Shame about the low turnout, if we get such low numbers in the next few races I can hang up my hat and let the current series run their course.
