Sorry, I won't be participating tonight  :'(. Having some sort of muscle/tendon problem in my left arm which is aggravated by using the steering wheel. On top of which I also have a swollen right knee which is causing me problems, so having a rest from racing for a week or so until they hopefully clear up.

Have fun guys, hopefully be back next week.

Five more laps and I might have been in the right car!

The SBRC strategy group obviously trained with Mercedes!

Looked like being a good race for me, as in I was fast enough to have some people to play with
But fell off twice, and got a long way behind, then fell off again making sure to give Fede plenty
of room, so as I was now a lonngggg way back, quit out.

i was sorry that you quit when you did, as I had given up hope of catching anyone in front and was on the point of waiting for you so that we could do some synchronised grass cutting.  Grin

My lack of preparation showed in this race. Normally, I might get and hour or so on a Wed evening to download the track and cars and then do enough laps to learn the track, before jumping on a practice server to test that all is OK.

That did not happen this week and all I managed was to download the track and do about 5 laps in the Fezza, tweak the setup a little to make it more comfortable and return a 1:19 lap on race fuel.

So, when I arrived on the server later than usual last night I was hoping to use the 275.................the server decided that it did not like my 275 and promptly booted me twice!!! So at the 3rd attempt I switched to the Porker , no setup and no practice  Undecided and actually no clue either!!

Trundled off the grid in last place and quickly made that position my own by dropping back with each lap. I only passed Phspok when he went after a wayward blade of grass that he had missed in previous excursions.
Everyone else was lapping at least a second faster than me, so I was about to slow and wait when he quit. Now I was last and all alone ...Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Roll Eyes

The soft tyres were not even mildly troubled by my lack of pace and even though I did slowly improve my lap times as the race progressed, I was never competitive. The gearing was wrong, the castor angle was causing me probs ( I think) and the brake balance was not what I would have liked. other than that the car was a joy to drive!!  Roll Eyes

Grats to Federico Clive and Simon, and hard luck Frex who appeared to have 3rd place sewn up !

Really enjoyed that one, had something to do all race..! Only downside was my shifter playing up, which was somewhat frustrating, and that plus a tall first gear lost me some places at the start (I think I was last at the end of the lap). Had a nice fight with Matt for a few laps (shame you went off), then set off in chase of Simon. Caught him, passed him, then lost my rear tyres and he came back at me. Not much left to fight back with and he repassed me, but hung on to him until I pushed a little too hard on the last lap and spun. Great fun though.

hard luck Frex who appeared to have 3rd place sewn up !

Not really Evil, as mentioned above my rear tyres melted just as I passed Simon and he deserved the place back. Congrats podium.

Only a small field but some great race reports.   thumbup2

As I have already said, our strategy team must have trained with Mercedes as the 911 was dismissed as not being able to get to the end of the race with any rubber left!  This was probably true but what we hadn't banked on was how fast it was going to be before it ran out of rubber!

It was clear that what I needed was a good start.  And that's exactly what I didn't get.  As we approached T1 I thought that I still had Frex on the inside and so took a wide line, thus losing all hope of having a "go" at Federico on the straight.  I closed but not by enough and that was it, race over.

At the time I thought that I just had to keep up a decent pace and Federico would run out of rubber.  But it didn't happen.  Well, not soon enough anyway.  Looking at his lst couple of lap times he was easy meat but the trouble was that he was too far away!  Sad

The Jag tyres were only half spent so another five laps of the same my have been what I needed.

So congratulations to Federico on a fine win.

Wonder how I can mess up next week's race.  I'm sure I can find a way.   Roll Eyes
