Moderator's Report

Only 6 drivers at the start but nice win for Dave Curtis.
Bad luck for Philippe Girard, who seems to be the quickest on track.

Nice fight between Philippe and Dave on the 1st lap.

No incident reported.
One shift-R perfectly followed by Stop and Go.
No incident on a clean red zone.

Grats and Thanks all !

Season 28 Amateurs Trophy - Round 5 –SILVERSTONE

Round 5 for the Season 28 Amateurs Trophy in mod 1965 will be at SILVERSTONE (Papy Track).

Race List = iGOR
Server = UKGPL_9
IP address = 37.157.48.87
Race date = 12-05-2015
Race Time = race starts at 21:30 UK time (21:30 GMT)
Qualifying Time = Between 30 and 60 minutes, starting no later than 21:00 UK time (21:00 GMT)
Track = SILVERSTONE (Papy Track)
Variant = 65
Damage Model = Intermediate
Race length = 38 Laps (50 minutes)
Password: see above
RED ZONE = 1st lap until the exit of STOWE

Replays Available here

Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page

The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.  Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left.

Moderating The red zone will be fully moderated from the start until the exit of STOWE on lap 1.
Other moderation will be on reported incidents only.  However any incidents that occur in the red zone that are not reported by the drivers will be reported by the moderator.  This will allow all affected drivers the opportunity to present their case before the incident is moderated.  This should ensure there are no surprises when the moderator's report is published and hence appeals will be less likely.  If you haven't received a PM about an incident before the link below the results table is removed, you can be sure that you will not appear in the moderator's report.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

38 laps at 93 seconds puts this close to 1 hour race length! I might suggest 33 laps as a suitable compromise if 50 minutes is desirable?

Yes but the server should be configurated with this number of laps.
Who can do that ?

UKGPL9 is set for that race length on Long, no complaints, but best of luck to you lot out there!

Gents
I've got to go out so I'm going to have to miss this race (minor problem with the electrics at my Dad's house - he hasn't got any Roll Eyes).  So I've started the server with 50 mins praccy, hopefully it will go fine and won't need a reset.
Cheers

Wondered what had happened...  You caught up, were past & off down the road.  Then just not there anymore/could not see you in the distance.  Unlucky.

Very flooky P3 after others went home early . Big dash home to join the server late after having to take the missus to the walk in center , she rides horses and had gone over the handle bars fracturing her ankle , some folk have all the fun  Grin

As the fuel load got lighter my car got slower , sliding around too much due to rear tyre temps . had to pussyfoot through the corners to try keep the rubber cool , bit of a race with Billy for the early laps till I decided to let him go past , was hoping he might fall off on the next lap but he must have chewed a mars bar or two before the race .

well done to Dave for the win and all others who finished , commiserations to Phillipe on the disco

Terrible race for me. On 2nd position and getting closer to Dave every round, my Engine blow up Huh?
And after restart I am in the 4th position and with no chance to get a better place.

Congratulation to Dave for the win of the race and for the Podium for Billy and Bernie.

Looking forward to the next race

Congrats to Dave, Billy and Bernie! It looks like the veterans of the series had all the luck this round.

Sorry that I could not race. We had a thunderstorm the night before, and it knocked out the internet for 24+ hours.

Commiserations to Philippe, I had the same thing happen to me while leading in the first race of this season (East London). As Bernie told me after that round, "No doubt you will be back wit ha vengeance !"

*The trend this season is for the early leader to have bad luck, and the runner up wins the race.

Also, We have had a different winner in each of our five races so far. Maybe Bernie, Rog, Fabio or Phil can win the next one to keep it going!

Quite a small starting grid last night but competitive none the less.

Bad luck to Phlippe who looked set for a podium / win. Congratulations to team mate Dave. As Walt mentions we have now had a different winner for every race & those who haven't won yet are quite capable of doing so. Will be an interesting championship.

Cheers chaps.

It's true that with pace,  Philippe & Kai should have beaten me;  also Billy probably would have done given another couple of laps...

Of course,  I'd like to think I was just managing that ever-decreasing gap towards the end;  but I'd only be kidding myself Smiley
