good race, even tho it was full of mistakes.

i qualified in race trim, but decided to let everyone past so i had something to do all race, had a bump with chris and then with some blue sls.. which killed my aero.. i was about 7mph slower down the straights and wouldnt turn in at all. Sad

either way i enjoyed it Smiley

Managed 0 laps of practice and 2 laps of qualifying after the game once again crashed with some sound lockup thing and I had to go and find the latest PLP app. Qualified on race setup from Monza with a tweak to 6th gear and more wing. Surprised to qualify 5th considering never driven that car on that track before and had 1 lap practice and 1 flying lap before qually was over. Anyway, with ChrisR deciding it was better to pull over at the start to make his race interesting and Darren going off early I found myself in second.

Trying to hang on to Erik's tail was difficult on a setup that was quite loose but I found myself in a solid 2nd position and without mistake I think I would have kept that. Unfortunately I span about 2/3rds into the race half way around the track and lost all my advantage to 3rd place where a gaggle of cars were then located close behind.

I knew after that that Chris would pass me before the end but I wanted him to work for it so very unlike me I defended for my life to prevent him passing, but eventually I slipped on a curb and lost enough momentum that he was by. After that I simply brought it home for an unexpected podium.

Was fun, but it would be nice to actually get some practice in for a change and develop a setup for the Nissan beasty.

That was a great race, really enjoyed it. Felt almost giddy to be running so high up the grid for most of the race  Smiley

Qually was mostly missed due to having to reboot my router to reduce a high ping (turned out my tomtom was trying to update itself in the background)  Roll Eyes only got one run as I caught a slower car on my 2nd faster lap and had to abort, so ended up 8th Sad
However I probably had my best start in AC and launched past about 4 cars down to the first corner  Shocked all nice and clean.
Within a few laps I was 3rd and stayed there until lap 9 of 14. Smiley  I had Anders Nismo chasing me hard the whole race and I really had to focus to keep it neat and fast. Eventually the super fast ChrisR and Darren caught us up and despatched us within a few laps. Try as I might I couldn't fight them that hard, just chase them once past, and finished the race a fine 5th on one of my favourite tracks  Cool
It felt great to be in sight of the podium guys the whole race.
