Moderator's Report

SUMMARY

Championship leader Dave Rainier wins the race in dominant fashion in the Eagle, leading all laps. He started from Pole and also did set the fastest lap of the race, completing a hat trick! Dave R. also was the most consistent driver. Honda works driver Axel "Cookie" finishes second, and Dave Curtis gets his second podium of the season in the Ferrari.

Michael Turner finishes an excellent 4th in a Ferrari, after losing much time early on in the race, being the last lad lap finisher. Billy finishes 5th in the Cooper 1 lap down, and Francesco rounds out the top 6 being the last finisher. Bernie completes more than half of the race so is still awarded points for his effort. Commiserations to George and Fabio.

There was one incident in the Red Zone, that was reported by Fran. All Pit Stops after resets were performed, but there was still a slight rule infraction.

Server replay time: 0h01m12s

Francesco is a bit wide througout T1 after the start, but gathers it up and takes the racing line. George is still a lot behind Fran entering, but makes up a lot of space running the low line. However George starts losing control getting alongside Fran, and moves into Fran. Both cars spin but can continue. Billy does a great job avoiding George, and Bernie spins himself trying to avoid, he can continue as well.

Not sure if George tried to make a move or just got caught out by the speed difference (as he didn't report), but he should have been more cautious.

Simple Ambitious Overtake - 1 Place Penalty (+1 Red Zone)

Server replay time: 0h43m19s

Francesco doesn't stop in one of the pit stalls, but in the pitlane.

Please stop in one of the pit stalls. See the rules page about Incorrect Stop & Go.

Season 28 Privateers Trophy - Round 6 - Mexico

Round 6 of the Privateers Trophy will take place at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, a 2.786 mile race track in Mexico City, Mexico. It is named after the famous racing drivers Ricardo and Pedro Rodríguez. The circuit got its name shortly after it opened when Ricardo Rodríguez died in practice for the non-Championship 1962 Mexican Grand Prix. Ricardo's brother Pedro also lost his life behind the wheel nine years later.

The circuit is located within the public park of the Magdalena Mixhuca Sports City in southeast Mexico City.

Replays Available here

Driver lists and token rules can be found on the championship standings page

The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.  Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left.

Moderating The red zone will be fully moderated for Lap 1 only. For this event the red zone will be from the start to the exit of the Hairpin on the first lap. Other moderation will be on reported incidents only.  However any incidents that occur in the red zone that are not reported by the drivers will be reported by the moderator.  This will allow all affected drivers the opportunity to present their case before the incident is moderated.  This should ensure there are no surprises when the moderator's report is published and hence appeals will be less likely.  If you haven't received a PM about an incident before the link below the results table is removed, you can be sure that you will not appear in the moderator's report.

The chassis token system is explained on the Privateers standings page. Please ensure you choose a chassis that is within your budget, which can be seen by hovering the mouse over your points total in the standings.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

I absolutely loathe this track! Hideous, no grip at the rear, always spinning and way, way off the pace. I knew I shouldn't have even bothered to take the start.

Congrats Mr Rainier & Mr Cookie!  Tried to hang on as long as possible;  that lasted about 1/3 of a lap!

For the event,  I was undecided on Ferrari vs. Honda.    Honda was previously a better laptime;  but quite some time ago.   A couple of test laps showed that the Ferrari may work out better for me this time.
Luckily for me;  I think the chaps behind had various issues to deal with.  Which meant that I really didn't have to push too much & was just trying to be fairly consistent with no crashing/no excursions.

Fastest lap was lap#4,  so that probably sums it up.

Congrats up the front;  looks as if you guys will be duking it out until the end of the season.

Cheers all,  now for another of Belgium's finest Smiley
Dave.

After qualifying surprisingly well, I messed up big time on L1 as usual (apologies to Franceso who fortunately emerged unharmed) and ended up about 40 seconds behind the pack playing catch up.
Finishing a respectable 4th was due largely to other drivers' misfortunes. Unlike some I love this track especially in the Ferrari which copes well with the twisty bits.

Looking on the bright side, my team won promotion to the Championship so it wasn't a bad day all in all.

Belated congrats to Dave Rainier for the win, Axel and Dave Curtis for the podium! Michael Turner also well up there after early race mishap. Wink

Fran reported one incident in the red zone, with George in T1. Other incidents can be filed until next Monday. Will finish both Carthage and Mexico mod reports before next round at Willow Springs.

As always thanks to Axel for providing server, uploading replay and generating results.

Must be Preston NE, they won the play off final.  Local club for me, well just half hour down the M6. Only Football League team I've ever seen play back in 1973 (drew 0 0).  Haven't been to a Football League match since (I'm not a huge football fan but but do watch MOTD occasionally laugh).

Indeed it is PNE - now back in the second tier which is where they were in 1973.
