Season 28 Amateurs Trophy - Round 8 – MONZA

For round 8 we visit Monza, the race track is located near the city of Monza, north of Milan, in Italy. The circuit's biggest event is the Formula One Italian Grand Prix, which has been hosted there since the sport's inception.
Not much to say about this super fast track...

Race List = iGOR
Server = UKGPL_9
IP address = 37.157.48.87
Race date = 23-06-2015
Race Time = race starts at 21:30 UK time (21:30 GMT)
Qualifying Time = Between 30 and 60 minutes, starting no later than 21:00 UK time (21:00 GMT)
Track = Papyrus Original
Variant = 65
Damage Model = Intermediate
Race length = 34 Laps (50 minutes)
Password: see above
RED ZONE = from the start to the exit of LESMO 2 (i.e. second Lesmo) on the first lap

Replays Available here

Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page

The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.  Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left.

Moderating The red zone will be fully moderated from the start to the exit of LESMO 2 (i.e. second Lesmo) on the first lap.

Other moderation will be on reported incidents only.  However any incidents that occur in the red zone that are not reported by the drivers will be reported by the moderator.  This will allow all affected drivers the opportunity to present their case before the incident is moderated.  This should ensure there are no surprises when the moderator's report is published and hence appeals will be less likely.  If you haven't received a PM about an incident before the link below the results table is removed, you can be sure that you will not appear in the moderator's report.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

I am sad to say that I will miss this round of the Ams Trophy. The family and I will be camping on the Frio river. I hope that you all have a nice race to the finish at Monza!

GPL crashed as I clicked to join the race  Sad

I'd just downloaded a setup as well.   Luckily I saved qually replay as usual beforehand;  so have a momento of sorts.

GL all runners;  although where did you go to Phil?

 Angry  Just finished qually. Only fifth on grid but close times so I was looking forward to a great race.  Then GPL locked up and when I tried to rejoin the race had started.  Very disappointing!!!

Results up, replay up, as for why Phil and Dave got kicked at race start I have no clues to offer, so analysis of the server event logs will occur tomorrow evening when am a bit more rested!

Looks like Billy is on his way to Ams Champion after his solid drive .

Was last of the depleted field into Curva Grande after bogging down at the start but could claw my way up to P2 after Paul then Kia fell off which then became P3 after I fell off .

Could do nothing about the Flying Phillipe though who drove off into the sunset after losing the tow .

At least I beat billy to the front row  Grin

My championship position looks quite promising, but I am the only driver to score points in every round. When dropped scores are accounted for it is still possible for others to win, although I think they would have to win at both Watkins & Mexico & I don't pick up a better score. I've never gone well at Mexico.
Very disappointing that both Dave & Phil T failed to get starters orders. It was quite a thin grid after that. Phillipe was in a different class & would almost certainly be champion if he had enough points scoring races. Had some good racing with Bernie for the first half of the race, until his second spin at Parabolica gave me a reasonable lead. After that it was just a case of avoiding mistakes.
