Sorry Tudor, nothing of any interest whatsoever!

I'll just have to play with my toy cars.

Having given this a little thought, I don't think I will be getting involved with this new sim.

I can still get as much racing as I want in GPL, with 60's GP cars, 67 GT's and 70's CAn Ams ( 1966 Can Ams are promised soon and there are hints of 1955 GP cars).

Then there is GTL, which gives me tin tops and stuff from 50's, 60's and 70's. So, I cannot really justify paying for content and sim racing when I am already at 90% saturation.

These sims may not offer the "stae of the art" graphics etc, but as my XP windows steam driven box is struggling to cope, I suspect that it might well have a meltdown if I try and run any heavy stuff.

Good luck guys. If it works for you, then it works for you, and I hope that you get the fun you want.

Raceroom won't run on XP so your mind is kinda made up for you.

lol    well that kinda settles that!!   Roll Eyes

My other computer ( yes!!! I have 2) is a laptop and apparently soon to be blessed with win10 for free ( why do I get the feeling that win10 is free simply because it is equally as crap as win 7 and 8??).
But in terms of gaming  capacity, it loses frame rate playing minesweeper!!! so the little bit of my brain that stores computer stuff tells me it probably would not work for Race Room either!!   Wink

so you guys who have tried Raceroom really rate it? Im a bit loath to install yet another race sim that might not get used enough (rf2 and Ir springs to mind!)  So interested to hear if this is worth installing.  Undecided
Some tasty looking cars and plenty of tracks but whats the physics/feel like?

I am still fairly in love with AC  (Clive you should really try the Cobra in it!...and I here the Lotus is pretty special, as well as the F312!...but agree not quite enough historical content yet ala P&G, but you also have 80's BMW E30's, F40's and RuF 911).

I opted out of the P&G this season as it clashed with an AC 'full-grid' race series I was signed up for on Thursdays (which alas the organisers cancelled half way through  Angry )  I looked into rejoining some of the P&G races after that, but each time I looked I just didn't like the track/car combo...nor the tiny grids   :'(

I am not looking to replace P&G with RaceRoom any time soon, I just wanted to judge the level of interest
and would like to run a test race to see if it's any good on-line.
It is far from finished, and there are replays, but I havn't figured how to extract results files yet
if you can. The grids are so low with P&G at the moment that as MJ says it's not worth bothering
I never do any practice for my own events these days, as even if I do there is rarely anyone to
race against at my pace. Someone suggested having the summer off for P&G, and that's what I'm
going to do, I have had enough of spending hours testing cars for 4 people to turn up.

So there will be no more P&G races on here unless someone else wants to run them for the time being
Later in the year I will ask around and see if it's worth reviving.

Thanks and apologies to those stalwarts who turn up most weeks, but we have gone under what I
consider to be the critical mass.

I will run this test race on Thursday 2nd July for any who want to have go, but there is unlikely to be a series
of Race Room any time soon, and I won't be running one at all until they finish it to the point where it is practical
to do so. (If they do)

Sorry guys but 3 years of it has finally worn me down  hang

That's very understandable Matt, even though it is sad news indeed. You've done a marveleous job plannning and managing these series, so thanks once again for all your efforts Matt.

I guess I'll just have to get GTL working again and join Tony's gang, once I'm back in CPH after summer.
If Raceroom turns out to be good, I'll be there. The community is more important to me than the sim.

Job well done Matt and many thanks.

Nothing that can be done when people want to play with their new toys.  Sad

I will see what is going on after the summer has passed but I'm not going to buy a new pc, or operating system for that matter, just to play games.

Thanks Clive.
I am not trying to push anything down people's throats, I am just looking at possibilies.
One of the things that appeals to me particularly about RRE is that I can run it smooth as silk on my ageing
Core2Duo system at low res (which still looks nicer than GTR2), granted it now has a modern graphics card
but it runs some GTR2/GTL tracks with a lot of flicker.
I have tried to run AC on the same box, and it's too choppy to be drivable.

I have some reservations about RRE, like the costing model could get expensive if you bought all the
content. I have bought the Euro and American Track packs, the 1992 car sets, and the other older car set
can't remember the name, some cars are in more than one set, so you get a discount for the ones you have.

Anyway, it would be nice if a few people turn up on Thursday. If enough people are interested and there is a way
of exporting results, we might try a short summer series.
